Someone accidentally doubled up on Bucs ensigns..#3 and #4 picks?
I like it, though think Odrick is waaay overvalued at #7.azfinfanmang likes this. -

I like Worilds and I love Bryant. Couple questions though:
1. Would Worilds be playing SOLB or WOLB? he's listed at 254 so my first guess is weak side but I'd like to get some other opinions on it. And are you comfortable w/ either Anderson or Moses starting at OLB this year?
2. What will be left at S in the 3rd-5th rounds? I really feel like big plays allowed and not made were our two biggest issues. Bryant addresses half the issue, but we need a centerfielder and Bell is 32 so a SS may be needed also. So many needs, so few picks. -
Boomer is the man but there is no way we pass on Arrelious Benn and Golden Tate in the 2nd round. Plus I would be really surprised if we took Jason Worilds instead of Sergio Kindle.

Bryant and Worilds would make me very, very happy. Even happier if Hughes somehow fell to #43, or we packaged Smiley plus #43 to trade up and grab Hughes.

Boomer's latest mock illustrates what I have been saying for a couple weeks now. The Dolphins will not draft Bryant even if he is still on the board because we will be able to get Tate, Benn, or Demaryius Thomas in the 2nd round. I suspect the Steelers may want Dez Bryant. Maybe they will trade 1st round picks with us and give us their 2nd for our 4th.
Another interesting thing about Boomer's Mock is Earl Thomas going to the Houston Texans. Like Boomer I believe that is the most likely landing spot for Thomas. I have a theory. Every NFL team does an internal mock draft. I suspect that Ireland's Mock also has Thomas going to Houston. My theory is that we are showing a ton of interest in Thomas to get the Texans to trade 1st round picks with us and give us their 2nd.
To be clear I am sure we are interested in Thomas and if we cannot trade down he may very well be the pick. However the Texans are the most appealing trade down option for us in the 1st round.
According to Boomer's Mock at #20 we would still be able to draft Jermaine Gresham, Sean Weatherspoon, Ryan Mathews, Jerry Hughes, Jason Pierre Paul, Demaryius Thomas, Brian Price, Terrence Cody, Arrelious Benn, Golden Tate, or Sergio Kindle. Any of those guys would be great.
Plus we would get Houston's 2nd round pick which is #50. A tremendous value in a very deep draft. -

Interesting that Boom has Tate & Benn on the board when we pick at #43. Dream scenario if we decide to go OLB with #12. Love the first round pick of course, though!
Kindle at 58 is a shocker. -
hey boomer. Haden's 40 time at the combine was due to a strained lower back supposedly and he clocked in at 4.45 at his proday which isnt all world but an imrovement over the 4.5+ he ran at the combine
Good mock. lots of interesting picks. would hate to see the Jets land Hughes but its definitely a possibility
Hey did you hear anything about a rumor of Cleveland trading up with the Rams for the #1 overall. Holmgren apparently really likes Bradford -
-
I can't help but think if Kindle fell to us in round 2 they don't take a chance and grab him.
-
Boom,
i like both picks ... and Worilds does come from VaTech via the Beamer connection, but assuming we take Bryant at 12 ... i really believe we take Burnett in rd 2 and Lane in rd 3, also assuming we don't pick up any other picks along the way.
these 3 picks would really fill some needs for us at WR, FS and SOLB ... still think we like Carrington a bunch as well -- but if push comes to shove, we need to pick Lane before Carrington based off of need. -

32 - The Saints? No.
31 - The Colts? No.
30 - The Vikings? No.
29 - The Jets? Not now.
28 - The Chargers? No.
27 - The Cowboys? No.
26 - The Cardinals? No.
25 - The Ravens? No.
24 - The Eagles? No.
23 - The Packers? No.
22 - The Patriots? Maybe but I doubt it. They have bigger needs at outside linebacker, defensive end, and tight end.
21 - The Bengals? No.
After #21 you are now in the middle of the 1st round. BTW the Texans aren't taking him at #20 either. Remember you are talking about a wideout who nobody has been able to work out prior to the draft. -
If Bryant gets past the Dolphins and the Steelers I could see him sliding all the way to the Bucs in the 2nd round. You heard it here first. :chuckle:
Its going to be an interesting draft. -
Ireland has proved that he will draft the best player on the board. He took Langford after already drafting Merling. He took Sean Smith after already drafting Vontae Davis. There is no way he has Worilds rated higher than Golden Tate.MrClean likes this. -
just not sure why we would do that ... trade down, then trade for Marshall .... that alleviates any requirement to 'double down' on WRs ... and lets then focus totally on DEFENSE (unless you're hell bent on picking a TE).
