I don't want Cam to go, we need him to get rid of capers and get a new fiery DC, and make Shea the OC and Green the QB coach.

Cam did not make martin wiff on blocks that got Beck killed, Cam did not let up and let a guy score (Crowder).

I guess P. Manning is no good either, he had 6 turnovers this year.

We need to let the season play out, but I really don't want another change. Parcells? No thank you, Cowher? won't coach next year Marty? no thank you.

Trading Chambers had good long term value, cutting McMichael was not a mistake with his work habits and cap number, the Wes Trade gave us our starting Center for the next 10 years, Donnie Jones would have cost quite a bit to match, and Kevin Carter had a huge cap number.

Basically our GM and HC looked over this roster and did what a lot of people wanted them to do, blew up some of it in an effort to go young and build for the future.

And I don't know why you are even directing this thread at Cam as all the moves you are talking about are PLAYER moves meaning our GM Mueller had the final call NOT Cam.

And its also against league rules for a team to demote a HC to a coordinator position so that's not even legally possible.

 

NP bro... We all are frustrated and even being a fan for 35 years, I had to turn the game off at the end of the 3rd quarter.

It is tough to watch, but I won't stop rooting for them!!! They will turn it around but the only way to do that is to get some consistency and continuity on this team.

Starting all over is the right thing to do if you're going the wrong direction.
And NO other coach in the NFL would go 0-16, even with our lack of talent. Every other coach would have stumbled into one or two wins by now. It's HARD to go 0-16.

I doubt it Cowher would come here unless WH throws boat load of $ at him, but I would take Marty over Cam in a heartbeat. We could always get another OC that has the same philosophy as Cam. System would be basically the same but different terminology. If we were to do this, they wouldnt have to learning a whole new system.

What I can't understand is why so many "experts" here can't seem to grasp that Cam just coaches he doesn't pick the guys, that is MUELLERS job. And Randy has done pretty well for a guy in his first year. We are stockpiling picks and getting younger. I say give Cam another year to get near .500. If it's a disgrace again next year say adios. I think pretty much everyone agreed this team should have been blown up by Saban in his first year.

 

Well, Cameron has half the say in personnel decisions: he and Mueller have to agree, otherwise Wiedmeier breaks the impasse. IMO, the real issue isn't the players CamMul have picked, the issue is the players Wannstedt picked: namely, those 60 players that couldn't stick to the roster, with a few exceptions.

Even if Cameron goes 0-16 this year, I think he should be back next year. Now, if we threaten to go 0-16 again next year, then that's every justification in the world for firing him.

I know Andy Reid does for the Eagles.

 

Shanahan, McCarthy, Gruden, Holmgren, Payton and Norv Turner all call their own plays.

Andy Reid used to but he gave up that role late last season.

 

RanCam are cleaning up the salary cap and to me that is a big step in the right direction.

 

Most new coaches don't really go 0-1x. Not even on the really bad teams or even expansion teams. If we win a few games, fine. But 0-16 is inexcusable no matter what. Losing record is understandable but 0-16 is too much.

Normally I would agree. However there is no where to take an 0-16 except up. There is absolutely nothing wrong with swapping coaches at this point.

In fact it'll be better for the team as there's no way Cameron/Rick will be able to lure any free agents.

understand that we're worse than an expansion team; we have the burden of a salary cap figure on dead weight like chambers - for whom we're still taking an acceleration hit - and others, all chosen by wannstedt and saban.

we'll be considerably better next year, regardless of wins and losses, because we'll be one more year into a real plan by a real gm - mueller.

we are probably at the level of the more recent expansion teams, and they were far from winless

Cam didn't inherit much , but the HC I want would have done much more

 

wins are often more the product of luck than grace when it gets close. witness that if we scored 3+ more points in 6 particular games this season, we'd still be in the hunt for the playoffs. that's the truth.

you're missing the big picture if you think that figures in one column or another make a team good or bad. we suck because we suck - whether we we had won 6 or none of the games in question. and we suck because not only have we no talent, but that no talent is costing a fortune...and it will cost more to get rid of before it's done.

expansion teams don't have that burden.

there was no salary cap when the Saints and Seahawks were able to win games with less talent than we have now

the battles are the responsibility of the HC not the GM

not winning any battles when in fact all other HC's are capable of winning battles speaks directly to the ability of the winless HC

Im a dolfan of 24 years I have seen rise of Shula/Marino, the hope Jimmy Johnson,The fraud of Wannstedt and the lies of Saban but through that I saw coaching talent even Wannstedt with decent players got the team to the post season and unset a Colts team that was far better then maimi,so coaching talent wasnt the concern...
Yes all those men let the franchise down in terms of long range player development however they could all coach.

I would even suggest that if Shula/Johnson/Wannstedt/and Saban where all to take this roster as comprised right now each would win at the least 3 games where Cameron cant win one!

The bottom line is Cam Cameron is a loser and thats not new he was 18-37 at Indiana and now 0-12 in the NFL so yes he should go

 

the Bills have lost their best defensive player, played a rookie QB, had numerous injuries, have a questionable talent base, have very limited financial resources AND THEY ARE 6-6!!!!!!!

I forget did the bills have Wanny running their drafts for 4 years? The Phins have a huge dearth of talent. Players picked 4 years ago would be at the top of thier game now. We have 0 that we drafted playing for us. The team needs to get better, under Cam or not under Cam. It's still to early to tell about Cam though.

we had a top five defense last year, we had talent on offense, we had a nice draft, we got a prize FA. a much better situation than the expansion Saints and Seahawks had

 

So if we won the coin flip in Washington, or the Texans kicker misses one of those 50+ field goals, or the TE doesn't drop the ball in Philly, or Beck doesn't under throw the Martin in Pittsburg, Cam is somehow a better coach, or the Phins are somehow a better team? I just don’t see it. We are what we are, a few wins doesn't change the teams talent level, or its coaches ability.

If we are 0-10 next year, then yes, I will be on the fire Cam Cameron band wagon. I just don't think this year matters, not after the change over and injuries that we have had. I mean come on, Worrel getting hurt was a huge blow to our secondary. WORREL!

Saban managed more wins by bringing in older veterans. You don't get better than mediocre with that strategy. Cam started a huge youth movement. Look at how many of his picks stuck on the team. I’m not saying that Cam is a HOF coach, or even that he is going to be a successful coach at this point. I’m just saying that his chance should not be over, and that there is no way to know either way yet.

 

You're 150% correct!! I'm not one who would like yet another coaching change, but, the fact remains that we're not going in the right direction. I'd hate to lose any more time with Cameron, just as we did with Wannstedt. The problem being, there aren't any real candidates out there who would want this mess of a job!!
