I can only hope that Brady hangs it up after tonight. What's left to play for? He has a Super Bowl ring for every finger on one hand, he owns nearly every relevant quarterback statistic in the book, and he just won what was arguably the greatest championship game in football history. At almost 40 years old, he should quit now while his health is still in tact.
I just want to see an NFL where every team has a chance at the Super Bowl. We get it, Brady; you're a God, you're the G.O.A.T., and your DNA is literally alien. Go ahead, ride off into the sunset. Let us have some fun now. -
Great football team
Teamates believe
Coaches believe
Belichick said it the other day " You have to have the foundation built. You can't win without it."
They definitely have the foundation
Proved it
Could any other team in the NFL have done what they did - I doubt it -
What more needs to be said. That team gets it. Don't be mad at them, be mad at the Dolphins for not building a team to compete with them. I hate the Patriots, but hell, that was some kind of performance.

Yeah I give a lot of credit to the Pats, but boy o boy, did Atlanta blow that game. Playcalling was questionable when they had the lead. How are you going to throw when you can run down the clock, and pretty much win the game. Yeah the FG is no gimmie, but they have one of the best kickers in the game.

If I'm the niners I'm potentially waffling on Shanny Jr, that was a disgrace in playcalling. After that tremendous Julio catch all they needed to do was run the ball 3 times and kick a FG. 11 pt lead under 5 mins would have probably sealed it.
Nope, let's call pass plays. Get holding calls and incompletions and take sacks and get knocked out of FG range. Makes perfect ****ing sense.

How much YAC accounted for Brady's 466? Honest question, I was shocked at the end when he had that much yardage, as it seemed that most completions were short passes.

What is the Pats win/loss record with and without Brady since 2001? Probably a similar ratio.

Looking back on it today, man... Atlanta had so many chance, blew so many opportunities. It's like they went to halftime, and just tightened up knowing they had a 25 point lead, and were likely destined to win the Super Bowl. Surely that hour and 7 minutes of time that passed between their offense last being on the field before half, to after halftime didn't help. Blame playcalling, tired pass rush, missed tackles, the turnover, the ridiculous lucky break on the pass that should have been picked by ended up a completion by about an inch... It's just crazy to think of the number of ways Atlanta just couldn't seem to catch a break, and as usual... New England catches all of them it seems.danmarino likes this. -
I could tell in the 3rd quarter their legs were gone on defense though. I kept saying they need to rotate the linemen out, they just stopped getting any kind of push. I think their youth was spent in the first half. -
They were rotating quite a bit up front. At least at DE they were. Freeney was in and out a lot. I'm not sure if that was regular for them with him being an older, obviously situational pass rush kind of guy at this point in his career now, but they sure looked gassed up front as things wore on. Offensive plays run, and TOP was so lopsided in NE's favor. Combine that with the fact it just kind of looked like the pressure got to them in coverage, Brady started getting time, and it was all downhill from there for a young team, inexperienced in big game situations like that.Last edited: Feb 6, 2017Claymore95 and dolphin25 like this. -
Garop went 2-0
Jacoby went 1-1
Drew Bledsoe came in during the 2nd quarter and finished the game in the 2001 season playoffs against the Steelers. 1-0

Matty "Ice" BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! He will never win one, this was his big chance and he blew it, thank God we have Ryan Tannehill.

- Best winning percentage by a quarterback in the Super Bowl Era
- Most wins in a row by a quarterback
- Most playoff wins by a quarterback
- Most Super Bowl rings held by a quarterback
- Most TD's thrown in a season (regular + postseason)
I also disagree tremendously with the sentiment that the Patriots will continue their dynasty with only Bill Belichick. No doubt, they would remain competitive, but it's the Brady-Belichick combination that has equated to all their success. I'd love to take out the Patriots while their on top, but logically, it's probably not going to happen - the 2nd best team in the NFL couldn't close out a 25 point lead over these guys, and as of today, we're certainly not among the five best teams in the NFL. As intelligent as Belichick is, he didn't make those clutch 4th quarter throws that only a handful of men in history could have made.
If Brady retires, the Patriots at the very least become vulnerable, and I think that's a big enough window for Miami to capitalize on.dolphin25 and finsfandan like this. -

This is the only post-game analysis that has value. That's really it right there.dolphin25 likes this. -
The last one is just another made up by the media to feel good stat.
The Pats have shown over and over that it doesn't matter who their QB is. If their defense ever starts to get consistently worse than 10th in the league, which they've done like 2 times since BB took over, then other teams will have a chance.resnor likes this. -

I hold the world record for jellybean eating.
However, I've paid people to round up every jellybean in the world. I only ate 10, but because no one has access to any, I hold all the jellybean records. I'm the GOAT when it comes to eating jellybeans.
Do you see how dumb it is to claim wins are individual accomplishments? I mean, I used a very simple scenario so some here could understand it. Do you understand? -
A rational argument really cannot be made that the Patriots wouldn't at least become vulnerable without #12.
Also, if Ryan Tannehill throws for 51 touchdowns next season, I'll be sure to ask you if you still think it's a media-driven, feel good stat that has nothing to do with the player. :)
And, with that, I'll be signing off for the day. Tom Brady, please retire. Belichick too, if you're feeling like it.
Best,
