I have seen a report floating on the net suggesting either of the two following scenarios for Boldin.

Ravens send McGahee and Heap straight up for Boldin.

Dolphins send Ronnie Brown straight up for Edgerrin James and Boldin.

The Ravens scenario would be better for Arizona

Ginn and a 4th for boldin, sounds fair.

Fair to AZ maybe. Not to me.

Ronnie Brown brings so much more to our team then just running the football. You saw just like I did what he can do for our offense when giving the opportunity. He's a nightmare for opposing defenses and coaches, and that's a well known fact around NFL locker rooms. Whether it's taking the wildcat formation and running it successfully to a point where there were other teams putting it into their playbooks, or catching the ball out of the backfield, running defenders over, or picking up blocks. He does it all, and those things are not a dime a dozen.

I personally feel like there has been a major amount of disrespect towards Ronnie Brown on this board the past week or so, and that really bothers me.

No Disrespect intended.

Don't get me wrong though, I like Ronnie Brown and I think he's a great player and a great character guy and his pass blocking is spectacular.

However we must agree to disagree because there's obviously two camps here: Those that think an elite WR > elite RB and those that think elite RB > elite WR. Therefore, it's nothing against Ronnie Brown personally. I just think that finding a great Running Back is a lot easier than finding a great wideout

I do agree that it's harder to find an elite receiver than an elite running back, but that's not really the point I, or most people are trying to make concerning Ronnie. Ronnie is a good RB, and he's the complete package. He's someone that defenses need to prepare extra for. That's why he's so valuable.

Why? That doesn't make sense. Now if they wanted to work a deal that included Boldin and Ginn with some type of combo of picks, sure. I would do that. But what I don't get is why so many are willing to trade Brown. He has been playing fine considering he hasn't had an oline, came off a serious knee injury and is playing in his third offense going into his 4th season. All of that has to slow the development of any player. Same goes for Ginn, he played in 2 different offenses in his first 2 season, the first without a QB to speak of and last year, near the end, our WR corp was really banged up making it easy for teams to double cover him. Few WRs will find success in that, especially young ones. Ginn showed improvement last year, there is no doubt about that. Brown will continue to get better, now healthy with a line built to block. We couldn't run in the middle, have to think Samson was in part responsible for that.

I just get the feeling at times that too many people think that there is a quick fix solution for what has ailed this team for nearly a decade before last season. You don't just trade away your better guys hoping that the guy you bring in will be better. Boldin isn't going to solve our problems in the pass game single handedly. Edge will be a step back in our running game, we then would have two older RBs.

If we want to BE the MAN, we have to BEAT THE MAN!!!.

We would be the loser on both ends.

Brown for Boldin? We are going to be a power run first offense, you don't trade away a top RB especially now that he will actually have a line in front of him to block. And then we drop back in the first round by 6-7 spots?

With all due respect to those who think Brown is expendable, what are you smoking? Can the desire and yearning for a top WR be a left over from the air attack days of Marino?

We must be a power run offense first and foremost, especially when considering that Henne will likely be our starter in 2010. We can't be a pass run offense with a kid getting his first starts, that would be a disaster. We have to take pressure OFF of him by establishing that we are going to pound the snot out of a defense on the ground, giving him time to get accustomed to the NFL game.

If we want to BE the MAN, we have to BEAT THE MAN!!!.

Totally agree with everything you say, especially the disrespect of Brown. Yeah he had some ugly games last year, but it was the first of a rebuild. Wait, with the line better in place now, him understanding the 3rd offense in 4 years, still being spelled by Ricky....Ronnie is going back to the pro bowl and has a chance to lead the league in rushing.

If we want to BE the MAN, we have to BEAT THE MAN!!!.

I swear madden is the bane of bulletin boards and Lombardi is an ass. All this stupid talk of dime a dozen means short memories or are just too young to remember us floundering around for twenty years without a decent running back... and now just for the sport of it, you want to trade one of the premier running backs in all of football today.. just like you were playing madden arrrrgggg

Im sorry but this is simply NOT a winning situation for our team. Makes no sense on so many levels.

i think the majority agree that they want Boldin on this team, we just disagree on how to do it. The Cardinals are also in desperate need for a TE. what if we deal fasano and a pick or 2 for Boldin

Brown for the Edge and Boldin I'd take in a second. I love R. Brown, but put me on the list of people who see the running back position as a dime a dozen. You can get nearly the same productivity from about 20 other backs IMO.

Just look at how well Cobbs did when he was in. I saw almost no drop-off at all.

I laugh in your general direction. You are too young to have remember the absolute drought of running backs between 1980 and when the team: first got Ricky and then ran him right into the ground with Wanny Wad Ball; then got Ronnie. For the first time in 25 years I saw a Dolphin running back run OVER a defender even without the benefit of a healthy and effective offensive line. Good running backs do not drop off of the gum ball tree. When you get one, you keep him, and preferably a very good backup/alternate. You don't trade him for a wide receiver. Wide receivers are also rare, but when a team is building itself up as a power running team, you don't throw away the best runner on the team. Cobbs cannot handle that load. Ricky can't as well as he could. And this is Brown's second year back from ACL surgery. With a rebuilding O line, the power game ought to take off. And contrary to what Lombardi wrote, Brown gets stronger at the end of the game, does get a good YAC (remember, a lot of his YAC yardage for at least two years started 2 yards of so in our own backfield), and with Ricky and Patrick as relief/back up/change of pace, this should be a good year for Miami Dolphin Running, as long as we don't have to rely on Knowshon Moreno to be a power back.

Quite a few teams have called but we have no offers," Graves said. "Anything can evolve from this point through draft day." The Cardinals think trade talk could heat up before the draft this weekend, and Graves laughed when he was asked whether the lack of offers meant that no one had even tried to low ball the Cardinals.

With all do respect, I certainly remember the 90's and the drought of running backs that this team has had, and watching Ricky in 2002 and 2003 was a blessing. I haven't missed a fins game in about 15 years.

But I don't necessarily think you can lay all the blame on just the 55 RBs that we had over that period. Yes, many were terrible, but it couldn't be just a coincidence that every guy we put back there couldn't manage more than 3.3 YPC.

I'll get flamed for this I know, but as much as I loved Richmond Webb and Keith Simms on the left, neither of those guys proved anything worth a lick at run-blocking throughout their careers. Their careers were made famous on protecting the best QB ever who in return made them better by being the least sacked qb per dropback of all time with his quick release and reading of defenses.

Just sayin....it could've been the offensive style or the offensive line, but it seems like more than just a coincidence that Parmalee, S. Smith, Karim Abdul Jabar, JJ. Johnson, J. Avery, etc. sucked.

I'm not saying good RBs just drop off of a "gumball" tree. But as I've said before I think that RB "gumball" tree is a lot easier to find and more plentiful than the good WR "gumball" tree, esepcially nowadays. Again, I'll fairly agree to disagree, but I just don't think the Miami Dolphins would see that much of a dropoff with a bunch of other backs. I know I certainly didn't see much of a dropoff with Cobbs in the game. I respectfully understand your side of the argument though.

And forgive me for being slightly insulted by the shot at my recollection of the Fins. My life knows not much else since I was 8

I think you guys are looking to deep into this. The Cards are not going to trade him unless they get a Kings Ransom for him. If not, they will keep him. Its going to be a give me the world if you want him, because we dont HAVE to get rid of him. He isn't going to the fins, lets be real. The Cards dont want players, they want draft picks, if your team is not willing to give it to them, they will either keep him for the next two remaining CHEAP years, or they will trade him to the highest bidder. Relax, Parcels builds championship teams, his resume speaks for itself. He will do whats best for your team. Good luck with your draft this weekend, and hopefully it will be a cardinals vs dolphins super bowl!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words, but one question about your statement: Why do the cards want draft picks and not players?

If my memory serves me correct, your team won the NFC championship and are a legitimate Superbowl contender as we've seen with a 40 year old QB. Why would they want young unproven draft picks rather than established veterans who will help them immediately get to the big game?

If you guys got Ronnie Brown for Anquan Boldin, you'd probably be right back at the top of the NFC in terms of who we're discussing as Super Bowl favorites.

You still have Fitzy, you can promote Breaston to starter role and go with Doucet in the slot. And then you just added one of the most dynamic runners in the game to your backfield. Your offense would be amazing.

True, it would add another threat, but there is no way in Phoenix that the trade would happen. You FO is smart enough to not trade such a KEY piece of your team.

Coach Whiz has stated again and again the way to win, is building depth and that depth is created through the draft. He has brought in guys that arn't HUGE names and has been building depth with that. He is a great coach in my opinion, and I tend to agree with him. R. Brown would be a HUGE upgrade to what we have now, but there is no way that a team like the dolphins would trade away him, when your offense is built around the power run/wild cat formation. Boldin would be a great addition to any team, but your FO is not stupid, and will not take on a 29 year old receiver that takes the punishment he takes. I would guess that another team like the Cowboys/Ravens/Redskins/Raiders would trade for him, and basically right now, the Cardinals dont have to trade him. Its a give us what we want, or we will keep him.
