Based on their rankings I would draft this way, even though there is no way these people would be available when we pick (minus DeCastro)

8: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa - Will hold down the RT, and can play LT in a pinch. I think he is better fitted for the RT position and more consistent than Jonathan Martin.
42: Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina - While I like other WRs more than him the value of getting him here is too great.
73: Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State - Ginger, but don't let the fire crotch fool you, kid can play.
104: Ladarius Green, TE, La.-Lafayette - Great size and speed, finally give us the playmaking TE.
138: Jacquies Smith, OLB, Missouri - Great size and speed. Aldon Smith looked up to Smith while at Missouri. Could be a great pick up here.
169: Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma - He most likely would have to go on IR for the year, but at this pick he is worth it.
200: Donte Paige-Moss, OLB, North Carolina - A player of this much talent at this pick is a no brainer.

104.Kheeston Randall DT (texas)- we don't seem to want to resign our NT and this guy can definitely plug the gap
138. Tramaine Thomas - was a 1-2 pick earlier on but still a solid player
169. Ryan broyles - can come back from his injury and become a fantastic number 2
200. Kellen moore

 

I think the rankings will change quite a bit, but here are my picks based on the CBS rankings.

8: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M- He's raw, but IMO he may have the highest upside of any QB not named Luck.
42: Markelle Martin, FS, Oklahoma State - I think he's the best player at a position of need.
73: Doug Martin, RB, Boise State - This is an insurance pick (Bush/Thomas), but I see near Rice/MJD potential.
104: Ladarius Green, TE, La.-Lafayette - Great size and speed, natural receiving instincts, could be special.
138: Jacquies Smith, OLB, Missouri - Great size and speed. Good first step, could be special.
169: Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma - Another insurance pick (Gates), but before he was injured looked like he could have Desean Jackson-esque potential.
200: Tank Carder, OLB, TCU - You have to love the name. Injury concerns, but he's heady and a better athlete than people think.

 

I also think the ratings will change a lot over the course of the offseason as well as my picks when unrestricted free agency begins... but here's basing it off team needs/value.

8 - Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama - Need a playmaker opposite of Cameron Wake, Upshaw is just that.
42 - Markelle Martin, FS, Oklahoma State - We need a serious improvement at the FS spot, Reshad Jones isn't cutting it.
73 - Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State - Value pick mainly, we can see if he is the real deal or not.
104 - Ryan Steed, CB, Furman - Add some depth in the secondary, maybe give some competition to Carroll/Wilson.
138 - Marvin McNutt, WR, Iowa - Great player this low, we need playmakers and he is one of them.
169 - Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma - Another value pick, he was a first round pick before he got hurt.
200 - Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois - We need some help on the OL, he'd be another body.

With this draft, I'd hope our free agents are more offensive line oriented and that we re-signed Soliai (if we stayed in the 3-4) and Langford (not as important as Soliai).

41. WR, Alshon Jeffery. (could put up some big numbers including redzone w/ Marshall drawing double coverage & Moore's downfield ability).
73. RB, LaMichael James. (James as PR/KR would be a nice compliment to a great D; Philibin will figure out ways to get his talent involved).
104. TE, Ladarius Green. (seems to be a unanimous pick)
138. FS, Tramain Thomas. (2nd team SEC'er has shown an ability to make plays in a variety of ways).
169. OLB, Donte Moss. (can't pass on his talent. Hopefully Greg Little's massive dedication and 1st year success has rubbed off on him.)
200. RT, Levy Adcock. (I'd like to give Philibin a year with our current group before throwing a high pick at Oline).
200b. WR, Greg Childs. (picked up an extra 7th specifically for him. He's a big, physical, playmaking SEC WR with 1st round talent prior to his injury who will push fellow SEC WR, Jeffery.


Jeffery, Childs, Green, Gates, Clay, and Marshall would present a constant threat over the top which would allow Bush, Thomas, James, and Marshall plenty of playmaking opportunities underneath, which would in turn allow even more opportunities over the top. The ground game would improve with the safeties kept honest, defenses would become more reactionary, and the play-action game would become dangerous.
