If there's an odd person out next year (or more) who do you think it will be?
I can't see any reason why we wouldn't be able to sign G. Cam on the cheap(er) side of things. Bell is a wonderful player but isn't he 31ish? I'm not sure about Crowder or Carey.
I have no talent for looking at guys but who would you keep and who would you throw to the FA market if you had to make that decision?
Also, wouldn't we get compensation for them?

I think they could all be back next year. If there's one guy whose gone though, its Carey IMO. He's said a couple times that he wanted to hit the market to see his value. He could be back if we slap the franchise tag on him though. Bell will have a new deal soon and they're working on one with Camarillo. Crowder will be back if he doesn't ask for too much money.
I would keep them all to be honest. Bell is a hell of a player. I think his injury history makes you worry when giving him a new deal though. I would think there would be some stipulations in the contract or something. Crowder is inconsistent but is solid IMO. Carey doesn't seem to be playing at his usual level this year but he's still a good player IMO. However, you have to wonder if he's really a good player or has he just stood out from a bunch of average linemen in the past. That's something to really think about.
It would be hard to let either of those guys walk. If I let one guy walk though, I think it would be either Crowder or Carey. You can get good RT's later in the draft (i.e. Jeremy Clary of SD) but Crowder is a solid player as well and that position can be improved on. I'm not sure really. I guess Carey?Rocky Raccoon and funkdat like this. -
I'd keep Carey and get rid of Crowder.

Do we get picks if someone picks one of these guys up?

I would like to keep all of them! Thats probably not feasable. I have no inclination to research Salary Cap numbers and such. There are some very good posters that do understand that so they could anyswer it better then I could.
On another note: If anyone has not visited the various other, non-football forums, on this site you should take some time and do so. I have been visiting the Political, Scientific, and Religious forums the past few weeks and I am astounded and amazed at the knowledge of the people in our community. Yeah we have some brilliant football minds on here but it goes far beyond that. ( I also like the ladies lounge but thats a different story). -

Carey is, in my opinion gone.
He's playing okay this year, but that's about it. He's as much to blame for our anemic rush attack as the next guy, though.
The way we keep bringing in OL, I believe we're already preparing for Carey's departure.
I can't see us overpaying for him. Especially since our conventional running game hasn't been stellar.
At this point my hope is that he gets a high tag and someone is willing to give up, say a 2nd rd pick for a guy who can play LT.
IMO everyone else will be here next year. Crowder has stated Sparano is the only guy he wants to play for. So I can see him making sure his agent doesn't price him out of the Dolphins' plans.
We need Camarillo and Bell.....IMOfunkdat likes this. -
Carey will likely be gone. Remember as well that they've just ponied up $17 million over 2 years for Jason Ferguson, so that cap space is a little less than it was. Plus there are 2 second round picks to sign. It all adds up.
If Carey wants Derrick Dockery + money, he'll be out. -

I think crowder, bell, and camarillo all stay. Carey is up in the air. I woudlnt mind keeping him, but because of his ability to play LT well, and RT well, somebody is probably going to shell out a large amount of cash to get him to walk away from the phins.

I will make a prediction....Channing crowder will be resigned to this team, That man is loyal, he loves this team, i promise he will not leave for a better offer. -

I would love to see all of them come back and begin drafting players to take the place of Carey and Bell (Bell only because of age). One question that I have regarding Carey if he were to be franchised, is what position would that be? He played last year as a Left Tackle but the majority of his career as a RT I believe. Not really sure how this works, and would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on that issue.
-
I believe he would be tagged based upon where he's playing at the time.
-
FYI: the ""Franchise Tag" doesn't differentiate between LT, RT, etc. For an OL it's just that. A FT for an OL.
Here, I found a link to a resource with that information.
