Didn't see this posted... http://www.miamidolphins.com/team/depth-chart.html
Notable:
-Dallas Thomas is second team LEFT GUARD
-Chad Bumphis is third team WR next to Tyms. Ahead of McNutt and Davis
-Kyle Miller appears to be ahead of Dion Sims. Doesn't mean anything really though. He did get a rep at long snapper last game and promptly snapped a high one back to Fields, who if he wasn't 7 foot 4 inches, wouldn't have been able to get it.
-Evan Rodriguez is the only FB on the roster, with Clay at TE
-Julian Posey is ahead of all corners not named Carroll, Patterson, Grimes
-Antwan Applewhite, even though he's been getting second team reps (which I believe the coaches do with veterans as a sign of respect.. ex Vaughn Martin) is listed behind everyone at DE
-I like our third team linebackers in Jenkins/Kaddu/Robinson better than our second team linebackers in Spitler/Trusnik/Freeny. Needless to say, we are going to see at least one maybe two additions here in the next 10 days.

I looked at that and thought it didn't make a lot of sense on a lot of positions.
Our six reserve LB's all seem to be roughly equal. It seems like it will come down to Special Teams play. I would not be happy using any of them in regular play so Ellerbee, Wheeler, and Misi need to stay healthy!!!
The same also seems to be true of our reserve WR's. Matthews, McNutt, Bumphis, Tyms, and Allen all have there points but none have separated from the pack. Again ST play here will be vital.
On the Dline, I wonder if Ireland can get a draft pick from any of the depth guys?Paul 13 likes this. -
I've been a bit disappointed in Reshard Matthews since his return from injury. I don't know whether he's getting open or not but no one is throwing his way. He doesn't seem to have developed any chemistry with Tannehill or any of the QB's. I certainly was liking him before the injury, he seemed to be coming along to where he seemed a lock as the no 4. Now I don't know where he rates.

That's an interesting depth chart. Some fascinating choices on there.
*Jeff Adams still ahead of Will Yeatman at Left Tackle.
*Brian Tyms ahead of Marvin McNutt and Keenan Davis.
*Sam Brenner officially placed as a Center.
*Michael Egnew second string and Dion Sims as FOURTH string.
*Julian Posey ahead of Will Davis.Paul 13 likes this. -

The depth chart probably isn't very telling of the final roster IMO.

I have to say I don't take much stock in those "published for the public" depth charts. It almost seems like it's a seniority chart. Veterans almost always seem to be ranked higher than rookies no matter how they are performing.

Something is up with the Dion Sims thing, trying to send a message or something.NCFINFAN likes this. -
Why is Thigpen listed as third RB? And if thats how they feel, why don't we ever let him carry the ball?

See, this is one thing that really gets me, and even the official team site is doing it, and then everyone else follows along, monkey see monkey do.
Wake is NOT the RDE!!!!!!!!!!!! Vernon is NOT the LDE!!!!!!!!
All anyone needs to do is watch a game. Where in the gawd damn hell is Wake lining up 90% of the time????? He is at Left Defensive End, across from the opposition's Right Offensive Tackle!!!

Wow...I just noticed that.
Pretty big mistake for them to make. -
Is it just me, or is the depth chart exactly the same as it was before the cuts, just with all the players who were cut removed? I didn't notice any major position shifts for guys moving up/down the depth chart, other than Evan Rodriguez...but that's only because Jorvorskie Lane is gone now. I'm pretty sure Dallas Thomas has been listed as the 2nd team LG since the initial one came out, same with Dion Sims being listed behind Kyle Miller.
Clearly some guys are getting more playing time and going into games before guys they're ahead of on that "depth chart"; Dion Sims being one of them. -

I mean it's not like because the Tampa game was a dress rehearsal suddenly Dimitri Patterson or Brent Grimes jumped ahead of Posey, or even Nolan Carroll. It was another young guy fighting for the 4th/5th spots getting all those snaps while Posey got 1 snap. -

You can look at the depth chart and make an arugment that after the obvious starters it is based on senoirity. -

To me unless something changes a lot tonight, I see Tyms as the 5th WR and it isn't very close. -

I think certain parts are reflective of reality and some are motivational/strategic. I definitely see Matthews as the 4th guy. Because Gibson is second string (on the chart), I figure they felt it necessary to put the other actual second string guy there.
