WE BEAT THE FRAKIN JETS. That alone makes this thread!
Brandon Fields punted 10 times for 564 yards. I have seen a lot of football for many a year. I have NEVER seen a performance close to what he did by any punter.
Cam Wake is not human. I told my wife he was gonna make a big play at the end of the game, as he has done before. He made two, in spite of the Jets passing 44 times.
Sean Smith did not catch a couple of int's but, he did not allow anyone else to cath the ball, and has become one hell of a tackler.
Our entire D was Phantastic, and will likely move up from #4. Just wait until they mesh, and know what they are doing.
Thoughts?

Ahwwooooooooooooooooo.oooooooooooooooo
Young guns D is only getting better:
McF=3 yds
Hillis=40 yds
Jests=3 pts
Wake up to 14 sacks, these guys are balling out*
*Sean Smith needs two crab claws in place of his hands so maybe he can hang onto interceptions...
At least one crab claw, he could look like a fiddler crab....
14 pts, 10 pts 3 pts...Nolan, Shalon Ninja Jedi bad news dispenser for offenses is moving into Bill Arnsparger Territory.
That dude is good.djphinfan and Pandarilla like this. -
Fields was the absolute MVP of the game!!!!! Bar none!! He bailed us out big time!! Everyone on the team owes him a lobster dinner.

This defense is growing and growing and growing....... right before our eyes like a Chia pet. It needs nothing but a little bit of depth and maybe a more reliable and healthier MLB to replace Crowder. With Bell not having "babysitting" duties any more, he's playing at a very high level IMO and looks like he could maintain it for at least another year, if not 2.
Moses & McDaniel have become our 12 men on the field IMO. Moses's light has come on, and he's been playing at a high level on virtually every snap since preseason. VERY glad we kept him around. These guys need to be locked up b/c their depth is invaluable to our D IMO.Southbeach likes this. -
Cameron Wake is an unholy union of athleticism and unrelenting persistence.
They got a W
They got a W against the Jets
They got a W against the Jets in their building
They got a W against the Jets in their building allowing only 6
Special Teams was outstanding and we did win in 2 of 3 facets of the gameToddsPhins and Southbeach like this. -
Fields and Wake were amazing, as was Smith. The dropped INT's only prevented the game from being a blowout, provided he houses two of them.

Well, with 3 pts allowed, and with Chicago giving up 35 pts, maybe they move into the Top 3 heading into the Bills game?

Defense shut down the Jets, is on a hot streak, and when the interviews were happening post game, Mike Nolan quietly wheeled his luggage out of the locker room and did not say a word to anyone at all..that is Mike Nolan. -
I need to add in Misi. He has been rock solid in setting the edge, being in position, tackling, and pretty good in coverage.
Almost all DE's switching to OLB in the NFL have problems, in their first season, in the pass rush. Misi had said that, after his early 3.5 sacks, teams adjusted to his bull rush, his only move. He appears to be a student of the game. I'm betting that next year he is stronger, smarter, and with another move or two to become a legit pass rusher. -

Good job by the return defense team -

Also his offense never went anywhere as a HC. im sure if someone comes calling he may go, but i won't be surprised if he doesnt either.djphinfan likes this. -
Next year, he will be looking for picks, and will make them. Guaranteed.MikeHoncho likes this. -

But, hopefully like Will Allen, Smith continues to be a good CB and make the stops when they come his way. Theres no doubt that the difference between this Jets game and the one earlier was Sean Smith vs. Jason Allen. Smith and Davis are the best young CB in the league and it should stay that way for awhile.
also lets give Vontae some major props on that deep ball to braylon. Braylon was PI'ing the whole time and Vontae still outplayed him. -
