Do you guys think we willl draft a QB? I know what some of you will say we have John Beck. But some of you also want to draft a RB we have Ronnie who is proven.

yeah!
-
Maybe. But not in the first round, first day, or even early second day. Probably with a sixth rounder.
-
sixth rounder? Thats funny, I guess Trent Green and his 7 interceptions are all we need. Oh yeah don't forget Lemon with his 4 turnovers a game. Finally we can definitely go all the way with Beck fumbling every snap and never throwing a touch down. Sure the sixth round sounds great.
Hopefully we will have a new coach and GM that knows how important the quarterback postion is and not some of these fans that are still sleeping. -
1). When you draft quarterback in the first two rounds of draft, that basically should make him the QB of the future. That QB deserves a good amount of time before we even think about what QB we should take.
2). Well, that depends on what we do with the pick. If we keep it, then we should pick Glenn Dorsey improve of running stopping ability and pass rush as well, but mostly the run stopping (or lack thereof). And if we trade it in a scenario, like say... the popular Dallas scenario (Their two 1st Rounders, second rounder, and their 2009 1st rounder), then I think we should pick a pass rusher like Quentin Moses and a cornerback in the first round. -
-
i have to say yes and maybe right away, beck looked very small on the field and physically overmatched, i am concerned about his physical skills in the NFL.
-
-
If we do the trade scenario with Dallas, we HAVE to take a QB with one of those picks. If Beck fails, we have no other options on the table. If Cam stays, its likely we will, considering in SD he had Brees and Rivers. I think its just smart to have 2 QBs in development. I mean, for example, if the Jets hadn't put all their faith in Pennington, they couldve had an insurance QB, something we dont have.
-
insurance policy is a good idea, there is alot of time to see if there is a franchise QB out there, if there is you have to draft him
-
I would say get that guy out of Hawaii. We might be able to trade down and still get him.
-
-
draft the guy who can be a franchise QB, if it is first or seventh, then you have two QB'S that have potential and you see what happens, we might have to play a season with Cleo next year, who elso is out there? mcnabb

I hope its not Mueller making the first pick for us. Who knows what will happen, maybe another special teamer or a running back we don't need.
-
-
There is no QB that offers "#1 pick" value. We are taking Long or Dorsey.
I would like to see us grab Brennan if he's available at #32 though. -
If we have a new head coach, he will likely want to draft his own QB.
-
I would say "no" as all of the top QB prospects seem to be the same player, large pocket passers with big arms that are careless with the football.
Woodson had the nice string of games without an interceptions, then when the streak was broken, the Int's came in bunches.
Ditto Ryan at BC
Brohm looks like the best of the crop, his team played worse this season and he managed to play through the adversity.
A Qb like Ainge is interesting later in the draft.. -
I would not mind Glenn Dorsey but we NEED a QB bad.Dorsey the only person I would take over a QB but then if choose Dorsey we need to some wheeling and dealing to get another pick in the first round to get
Top QBs:
Brian Brohm
Matt Ryan
Colt Brennan
John David Booty
Chad Henne
and Andre Woodson -
Ryan or Brohm would be a great signal that this team is serious about getting the future right. There are virtually no other QBs worthy of being taken. Flacco has zero mobility, Brennan has no experience in an NFL type offense. Woodson is boom or bust
We have the rest of the draft and free agency to address defense and offense. Draft a QB with our first and spend the rest of the draft adressing our other needs -

there is no point in drafting a QB right now to be honest. we are a good five years away from contending for a division title.
any qb we put in right now is going to look bad. our o-line is average at best, our WR are the worst in the league, and we have the worst offensive coaching in the league. -
I would take Delaware's Joe Flacco in the 3rd in a heartbeat!!
-
i think if Colt that kid form Hawaii is there the 2nd or 3rd round we should draft him he is a really good QB i would much rather have Woodson in that sencond but he wont be there
-
-
Its has to be Chris Long or Glenn Dorsey with the 1st pick and right now I'm leaning towards Long and possibly draft Brennan at #32 if he is still there even though there will likely be a player that can really help the defense such as a corner or linebacker or an offensive lineman.
-
If we draft a qb, and I hope we do, I want it to be in the 3rd or 4th round...not too early but a guy with potential. i don't follow colege ball so I don't know who it should be...but we do need another QB ot two around here...because Trent should be done....
-
I would honestly love to see Miami make a trade for Derek Anderson, a big quarterback with a rocket arm who has proven himself unlike the quarterbacks Miami usually brings in.

I hope for chrissakes we draft a QB, it's a great year for late round QBs IMO ...and early rounds of course... you got
Ryan
Brohm
Woodson
Brennan
Henne
Booty
Flacco
Ainge
Dixon
and Sam Keller who is borderline IMO...
If we can get Flacco, Ainge or maybe Henne with our 4th rounder (98th overall) i'll be very happy... you gotta have competition at the position and even though veteran free agents do bring this for Beck, a rookie QB brings him a more long-term competition -
I say get Glenn Dorsey or Chris Long. Also i think we should get one of the big named offensive linemen in FA.
