Dolphins' Ajayi: Repaired knee has been a non-issue for years | www.palmbeachpost.com (via http://ble.ac/teamstream-) http://teamstre.am/1IgOGnc
I don't think we need to worry about his knees. I don't think he believes he is going to have any problems. The knee stuff happened 4 years ago.

That article was funny as he is adamant about his knee being fine and them following up infinity more times, "so how's your knee?"..."IT'S BLOODY FINE!!!"
-
That's good to hear. I thought it was something that would give him problems, but it seems like the entire thing was overblown. He seems like a gem. Hopefully he can continue to progress with more playing time. Love his running style.

I'd love it if Ajayi ends up being awesome.
Obviously. -
Ajayi's knee issue isn't a tendon issue, like ACL/MCL tear or sprain. It's a cartilage issue (essentially the lubrication between bones). He has very little cartilage left in the knee, so he might be bone-on-bone in a few years. At that point, it would basically be arthritis, and he might be done. Or maybe he could try the "Kobe Procedure", and that might work.
The point is that Ajayi's knee is fine for now. But as Mike Mayock said, he's probably a "one contract running back". Some say "two to three good years".Finster likes this. -
If we have 3 years with him, then lets make the most of his ability. Although I don't think this will be the case. I think he'll be here for a long time.

Yet people around here talk about him like he's a cripple that we have to treat with extreme caution.

I assume there is no issue to be concerned about now. I think we should trust that what he said was true until we see otherwise.

There is a reason he lasted until the 5th round, with his production and talent, and it's not like Miller, he didn't drop, he was just over estimated by draftniks, he was not a productive runner until his final year, and he was lacking in certain areas, not Ajayi, he dropped due to doctors reports.
I have no problem using the kid, he looks good, but I'm not letting go of Miller and "trusting" in his knee, that's just not smart football imo.Disgustipate and Puka-head like this. -
He would not be the first or last RB(or any position) for that matter to have knee issues and go on to have a fruitful career. -
