if this is true and it seems like it is now per all sites reporting it on twitter at least, It looks like we have an inexperienced Offensive Coordinator (NO NFL experience) this is a blurp from yesterdays hiring news of him to Detroit. I hightlighted some concerns and positives.

Seems like we might have some growing pains unless now Philbin will be assisting and helping design the gameplan ala Greenbay days?

So he chose Miami over Detriot? Unpossible!! We were lead to believe Detroit was the dream job and Miami was an undesirable pit of snakes!

As sort of a brief primer, Bill Lazor is a guy who has been around and had coaching experience under multiple systems(Mike Holmgren, Dan Reeves, Joe Gibbs). Chip Kelly hired Lazor, and OC Pat Shurmur to help blend his offense with a WCO base. Basically you've taken the Chip Kelly "elements"- The tempo, the run game, formation tendencies, etc. and grafted them to a lot of WCO passing concepts.

If Lazor is hired, I would tend to think it would be to bring that style offense to Miami, because it meshes very well with what Philbin would like to do. It's got the zone blocking, the hurry up elements, the 11-package base, and combines "new" innovation elements like packaged plays and option football.

But this doesn't match the media narrative of doom and gloom surrounding the Dolphins, and that nobody wants to come to the organization ever. Thus, this can't be true.

Without a doubt...I believe this is what we will see. This really is what Philbin wanted to do from the start. Remember the hurry up aspect of our practices. People were saying theyd never seen anything like it.

He was basically my favorite option and a guy I was researching before Sherman got fired, so it's a bit weird to see it coming true to be honest.
