Or so Twitter is beginning to say:

"Although we are capable of great acts of kindness, history teaches us that we sometimes need saving from ourselves – from our recklessness or our greed. God sent into the world a unique person – neither a philosopher nor a general, important though they are, but a Saviour, with the power to forgive... It is my prayer that on this Christmas day we might all find room in our lives for the message of the angels and for the love of God through Christ our Lord." (Christmas message, 2011)

I'm not sure they're specifically looking for a super athletic guy, or else they wouldn't have traded for Josh Rosen. I do think, however, they would certainly consider Jordan Love for a multitude of reasons.

I don't doubt they have an eye on Love, but I doubt it is their main plan and is instead more of a back up plan in case their main plan or two fall through.

I suspect main plan is still to draft a QB 1st unless we win our way out of top 3 on the board. I wouldn't doubt that these are contingency plans though.

Hope you are right. I dont like this plan. It is going back to that failed mentality of drafting types to fit a particular scheme instead of drafting the best players. The best QB in the draft at this point is Jordan Burrows imo. He should be the plan A target. I dont like love, for every lamar jackson there are dozens of failed athletic QB prospects. This league is too copy cat, one team has some success with taking a chance on lamar jackson and now everybody is trying to replicate it. Nothing stands out for me with love. QB targets should be Burrows or Tua.

If you read these tweets you'd see Miami was in on this plan BEFORE Jackson started this insanity.

I'm all for it. Especially if it means Miami won't have to give away a lot of the picks they worked so hard to get.

That doesnt make the plan any better. No-one here will complain if we use the last pick of the draft on a QB and he makes it.

It almost makes it worse they didnt go after Jackson, even though I believe he will flame out hard.

The idea is more....is it smart to not put top priority on the top position.

They are going to win more games. I doubt they are going to be able to get Tua or Burrows. I don't see them trading up.

Would be hard to get mad at Chase Young really. But we will pick a QB unless we finish outside the top 3 and lack conviction on anyone but the top 1-2 guys to take that high.

If we somehow end up picking in the 5-8 rage, the OSU corner Okudah is a gamer too. Pair with X and just shut down passing games.

I could very well be wrong, but I just have a gut feeling that we’re either going to make a play on Burrows...or we’re foregoing the QB in this draft, build a powerhouse running team then going for Lawrence in 2021

There's a simple answer that meets their draft philosophy and their mobile QB...Cam Newton. I've heard tidbits that Superman himself is highly coveted by the front office this off-season and he may be bringing his talents to South Beach.

Can Newton would be Dante Culpepper all over again. HARD PASS

Yeah stay away from Cam Newton. I said right from his rookie year that he wouldn't be that good (I just have a bias against QB's that aren't accurate and/or make bad decisions because I don't think you can teach that, at least not most of the time). And sure enough the guy ended up as a below average passer with a career z-score of -0.133 (and that's including that one good year in 2015), though I agree if you add in his scrambling ability that would raise his overall value.. to maybe average? lol.

Stay away from Cam Newton! (unless he's a low paid backup that replaces Rosen lol)

LOL, I promise I'm not the one recruiting him.....just sharing what's leaked out to the media recently. It could be all fluff news or there could be some truth to it; who knows. Cam is fun watching though!

Cam frankly looked absolutely done. I think some people are underrating his peak, but good lord did the league just allow him to be wrecked. That guy has taken more big hits than I would want to be investing in at this point. He will need to sign a one year prove it deal, and it will probably be with a team like the Bears or Chargers (if Rivers moves). Just too many injury questions to really invest in the guy at this point.

What would be smart in my opinion is to parlay the high number of early draft picks into several more years of them. That can easily be done by trading back and picking up a team's pick from this year and from a future year.

Assemble a team that's comprised largely of (hopefully good) players on their cheap, rookie contracts, while possessing lots of salary cap flexibility to add veterans who fill very precise needs.

Well I think both Tua and Burrow should still be top priority in this upcoming draft, but....If we came out of the first round with 2 of our 3 picks being Chase Young and Jalen Hurts, I wouldn't be mad at all. In fact, i'd be absolutely ecstatic.

Yeah I'm really liking Jalen Hurts, a lot! But I am pretty sure their QB 1 and 1A are Tua and Burrows. Definitely NOT a fan of Herbert and Love is just too up and down for me. I think the guy they would want outside the 1st two is Jake Fromm. I just have a feeling he fits what they want and no I don't have anything to back that up.

I would be very surprised if Burrow(s) was their QB1 or 1b at this point, and indeed that's one of his biggest issues to overcome is the "Johnny come lately" flash in the pan thing. Coming into the year, it is hard to think the front office really paid much attention to Burrow at all, and while his year has been VERY impressive, they likely haven't made any huge board changes to the QB class at this point. They will want to see his whole year, talk to people, talk to him, etc.
