Don´t like Landry as Returner

In preseason, he broke more big returns than Thigpen did all last season. I think the job is unquestionably his to lose.

He does not look like a natural returner but with those big hands you wont see him dropping the ball and putting your team in a hole.Additionally he will follow his blockers unlike most of the more natural returners whose instincts will take them to the sidelines .Tedd Ginn for instance.

He may not be a burner, but as a returner, good hands and the ability to hit the crack and weave through traffic are more important for establishing field position. Also, he's at best our 4th WR right now, so he won't see a huge amount of time on offense right away anyways.

Some reason coaches always like putting a rookie out there to return kicks, as a way to earn their job on the team... I don't think he's the permanent kick returner. Once he's an established receiver they're not going to risk putting him out there to return kicks.

I honestly don't think coaches view returners on their ability to break one for big gains or TDs. I think they want them to be smart and sure handed more than anything. If they have a guy that is smart and sure handed AND can break a few then that's just a bonus, but I think most coaches figure as long as we can start from our 20 and not turn it over, then they can run their offense.

At this point kick returning is little more than a formality, since kicking teams are permitted to kick from the 40, and only a two-man wedge is permitted. You might as well down every kick you have a chance to down in the end zone, and consider getting the ball on the 20 a gift. Punt returning nets about 10 yards on average, with the long return being the rare exception to the rule. In other words, kick and punt returning in today's game doesn't mean much.

Maybe he is not explosive as a runner, but he has great hands and seems to find the lanes. Since at this point he wont be starting due to our depth, I want him on the field touching the ball somehow.
He is a playmaker and you need to get the ball in the hands of your playmakers.

Has 4.5 though.

I think he will do fine, real test for him this game b/c the Pats St unit is very good and will try to strip the ball in ways he may have no exp dealing with

josh gordon ran a 4.5... wasn't he the best WR in the league last year? your 40 time doesn't matter. it's how you use your abilities.

At times, Landry has looked as comfortable returning punts as a 3rd baseman might catching fly balls in centerfield. I'm a little concerned.

While speed kills, returners need good instincts. Landry demonstrated those instincts during the preseason.

I like Landry more than Thigpen. He has great returnee instincts from what I've seen as far as when to field the ball and he's looked good with the ball in his hands..

After not doing it since high school he can only improve.

He has good moves and makes good cuts, i think that could be better than having speed. ps Hi everyone I'm new here.

I'd be happy if he is just a better decision maker than Thiggy; when to fair catch, when to let it go over his head and absolutely not letting it bounce and roll 20 yards.

1) you have yet to see Jarvis return kicks to his potential, they've been saving him. he will be excellent on special teams.
2) bomb to Wallace in opening set. goes for a touchdown!
3) Brady sacked & hurried throughout the game...
4) Lazor unleashes new offense overwhelming the patriot defense.
