I don't know about Cam. I just don't right now. But I do know that unless the Dolphins win their final 3, ruining the Pats undefeated season in the process, the Dolphins will have April's #1 overall pick.
Barring a trade down, which are increasingly rare as guaranteed rookie salaries continue to rise. Which one of these players fill the Dolphins biggest need?
Looking at the current ESPN scouts.inc top 10 I find myself uninspired.
1. Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
2. Chris Long DE Virginia
3. Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
4. Sedrick Ellis DT USC
5. Jake Long OT Michigan
6. Matt Ryan QB Boston Coll.
7. James Laurinaitis ILB Ohio State
8. Brian Brohm QB Louisville
9. Derrick Harvey DE Florida
10. Calais Campbell DE Miami
The Dolphins are going to (hopefully) select BPA. Since it is still early December and there are Bowl games to be played and a combine to go through, this top 10 could change, but the Dolphins next great hope is likely in that list.

You all really need to trade down.
But I guess I would have to say McFadden if you cannot
I think it is not the best for you
But unless you stay a 4-3 and get out of this hybrid stuff you run Dorsey is not a 3-4 NT -

Games are won (or lost) on the line of scrimmage. D-line would be where I'd start.

Exactly That's Why The Patriots Win And I Hate The Patriots
-
McFadden, Ryan, or Long IMO.
-
We need a Qb, in reality i deff know we'd never get dennis dixon or colt brennan but i really would openly welcome them to the dolphins cause i really want them, but ill soon get over the fact that it will never happen.
-
People need to get over this pipe dream fast. McFadden will NEVER BE a Miami Dolphin. -
This poll has left out DE Vernon Gholston, a serious contender for going #1 overall.
Honestly, our need at #1 depends on the free agent market: players we trade and players we sign will change the needs that seem so apparent to all of us right now. For example, if we sign Marcus Trufant, we don't need to look at CB in the draft: a 1-2 tandem of Trufant and Will Allen would instantly become one of the top five cornerback pairings in the NFL.
For what it's worth, I voted for Dorsey and Long. -
At this point we could take almost anybody and it wouldn't be a terrible pick. In this situation I think we need to take the BPA regardless of position (maybe even McFadden).
This is going to be a lengthy process and we need to remember that the draft and free agency aren't cancelled after this year. There are more opportunities to get players. We're not gonna fill every position in one off season -

If you put a gun to my head and asked me to pick a defensive end this year, it would be Quentin Groves out of Auburn. He switched positions moving to strong side 'backer, but prior to that was an absolute terror. He stole the show against Kansas St. earlier this year.
You cannot tell a guy that's gone full speed all his life, to suddenly attack the quarterback from a mannequin position, not to mention the added read and react that is involved. It goes against the very nature of the individual, and is similar to what our coaches have done with Matt Roth. He's far more effective at 265 than the present 290, coming around the corner. He might be a liability vis a vis the run game, but I always thought we would envision him to be a Trace Armstrong lite.
As I've said in a prior post, I really like Dorsey, but frankly, I don't see a position where we don't have needs, except maybe running back. -
I have no problem drafting McFadden and keeping Brown, and if they both develop into all-pro's then you trade the older one (Brown.) But you don't give another team Brown for less than his value before you know exactly what you have in McFadden.
The Saints didn't immediately trade Ricky when they drafted, Deuce. And they didn't (wisely) trade Deuce once they drafted Bush. -
Miami's need is a CB or DL. I didn't even see a Cb on the list
-
Is this a popular scenario? I love Ronnie, but this would be an amazing swing for us. -

There are 7 rounds in the draft you know, maybe we could try rounds 2-7 for a CB.No?
-
i dont not think we need to draft a RB in the first round this year if the dolphins want to draft one there are ALOT of good RB in this years draft and i not to sure about McFadden
-
Sorry but anyone that thinks McFadden will be here next season is seriously seriously fooling themselves. It isn't going to happen. -
The three most important positions to get are Pass Rushing Defensive End, Left Tackle and Quarterback. There are no Left Tackles other than Clady if he comes out. Chris Long is a very good Defensive End but his game is more all around and I dont think he'll be putting up double digit sacks in the NFL. Unless you watched Beck in college and are convinced the guy has some amazing NFL qualities that we havent seen yet, QB is still up for grabs and there are three potential franchise QBs out there, Ryan, Brohm and Woodson. Woodson would take the longest to develop and has the most downside and upside. Ryan and Brohm could probably start towards the end of next season. Pick the QB and spend the rest of the draft addressing other positions. Jeff Otah as a tackle might be available 2nd round and pass rushing Defensive End Jeremy Thompson from Wake Forest might be available in the 3rd round.

Yeh..I love.Ronnie...but if we could trade him for a first....and we took McFadden....you have to do it. HAVE to. We are in such a hole now..picking up another #1 would be huge. But do you honestly think any team would trade a 1st for Ronnie with him being hurt? -
Who was the last RB to return to 100% from an ACL before being 2 years removed?
Having two great players at any one position is a problem every franchise would love to have. -
Wow thats sad to say that only 11% percent think we need a quarterback. I hope who ever the gm is they don't think like that. We can get a defensive tackle in round two. I say with our first pick its franchise quarterback all the way. We have Ronnie and Ricky, its time to finally pick a good QB. Not a 27 year old bust and not a high round kick returner.

4 players and our offense could shine, that is one of the reasons "why" I favor drafting McF.
