Lol Ireland is a JOKE. That's his 3rd, 4th and 7th round picks inactive. his 5th and 6th round picks couldn't even make the 53. and his 2nd round pick couldn't block a cheerleader. Ireland is pathetically bad, I can't wait till this bum is gone.

Do you realize that first-round picks have only a 50% chance of ever becoming starters in the National Football League?
Now, what we're talking about here is the very first professional football game for a third-, fourth-, and seventh-round pick.
Come on folks, balance the knee-jerk emotion with a few facts every now and then. -
Could use some rephrasing, because to say that (particularly) a 7th round pick is inactive this week is not at all unexpected.

Well that must mean that 3rd, 4th, and 7th round picks have an even better chance! -

............ theres other, more experienced players on the roster that can contribute until the rookies are ready. This actually means we're not desperate enough to have to play rookies everywhere week 1. That is a good thing. We're probably going to witness our future franchise Qb get off to a good start and your crying about players we dont necessarily expect to contribute right away not being active. What a joke. Grow a pair crybabies, your an embarrassment to the fanbase.

Is Randall inactive? Because he too was a 7th rd pick.

-Egnew wont get any time with Clay and Fasano playing most of the snaps, and he's really not ready anyway-
-Lamar Miller wont get any time with the running game clearly being about Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas. You could argue that he should atleast be returning kicks but maybe the staff doesn't want to risk a talent like him getting hurt-
-Rishard Mathews isn't going to play if Hartline is healthy. Teams always go with vets to start the season and in this case it's Bess, Nanee, and Hartline-
This doesn't mean that guys like Egnew, Miller, and Mathews wont play eventually. At week 8 we could see one of them starting....you never know. It's not uncommon for rookies to be inactive the first few weeks. Arian Foster I believe was inactive week one for his rookie year as well. -

They are active.

This thread caused me to look at the depth chart, and wow do we have a young team or what?

Of all the inactives the one that disappoints me the most is Matthews, I was hoping he would get a chance today, especially if Nanee is terrible once again.

I am sure Omar will comment on Matthews as "I told you so". He has argued if a receiver was to be cut it would be Matthews. It is hard to make your best special teams player in Moore inactive. And what is interesting here is Freeny comes off the practice squad right to the active roster. That linebacker crew must be thin and sore as has been reported.

I'm really surprised that Miller is inactive, actually. Staff must have a lot of confidence in Daniel Thomas, hope he can make something happen this week.
-
Egnew is by far the most disappointing. We're thin at TE.

Excited for Marlon Moore.....I think its interesting Hartline is active too. I breathe a bit easier with Armstrong, Hartline, Bess and Fasano/Clay on the field with Reggie in the background.
Matthews will get his chance, he practiced with the 3s and 4s all TC....let him and Tannehill get some chemistry during practice before you start him over guys like Nanaee (who Ryan worked with all offseason) -
I was hoping Matthews would be right in the mix with Hartline and Bess, but oh well.

That's a big blow to the "Egnew will match Brandon Marshall's numbers from a year ago because it was nothing" crew......
