lol
awesome. -
Initially FF was a big selling point for me and the PS3. Having both systems makes this less of a big deal. Although I really like achievements, I think this is a game I will get for PS3 as theoretically my sound quality should be better (since I use HDMI with PS3 and only toslink with 360), and with the intall on a PS3 HD it should run smoother (and less disks, lol).
-
Also will probably get it on PS3 in case of future additions/installs, because I have very little space left on my 20GB 360 HD.
-
Sony is going to have to pull out some bombshells tomorrow.

I would disagree with the last comment though. God of War is one of, if not the biggest, franchises they have IMO. Socom is very successful as well. And there is a game called Metal Gear too. :D -
I'm 10 times the FF fan than I am MGS
this is epic and huge, and great for gamers in general
if i was a 360 only gamer, i would be much more excited for this, than if mgs4 was coming to 360 -
it isn't about hype, it is about sales. FF XIII will sell at least 3 million copies on name alone. God of war sells around 1.5 to 2 million copies.
Those 3 million copies would have to be ps3 copies. Now they can be on any system.
Gran Turismo is the only game left that has the automatic sales of a Final Fantasy. Socom and God of war, are up there, they are both just not Gran Turismo, madden, Grand Theft Auto or Final Fantasy level
Metal gear also already came out. -
-
Motion FF is probably the biggest franchises Sony has. I'm not a fan of the FF series, I can't wait to play Infinite undiscovery and Tales of Vesperia.
I'm guessing Sony announces Legend of Dragoon 2 :D -
Mor (or anyone), wasn't there an article a little while back that got posted on this forum talking about how the XIII Versus team was moved to the XIII team to help them work on it? You think they were brought over to help bring XIII over to the 360 faster?

playstation and final fantasy go together like pb and j
before i owned a ps3, i was content with my 360 but it nagged at me that i would need a ps3 for final fantasy.
i realize that my view isn't shared by everyone, but to me, god of war is meh, gran turismo is boring, socom is nothing special. just saying....and MGS was never a big game on my lists, and i was actually surprised at how hyped everyone was for 4 before it came out...granted, it apparently delivered, but again, not my thing.
this is a monster win for M$...as big if not bigger than if MGS4 was released for ps3 and 360 on the same day...its that big imo.
add in the 360's announced partnership with netflix for streaming media coming this fall, and they had a hell of a day -
God of War freaking rules! That game is amazing.
Funny you wrote that Final Fantasy and Playstation goes together like PB and J. There has been more final fantasy's on Nintendo than Playstations if you count gameboyPhinz420 likes this. -
Thats good for all you 360 owners.
The Games gonna kick ***. -
i just have associated the latest greatest final fantasy with playstation for years now... -
-
god of war is a hack em slash em, and while i appreciate its popularity (played god of war 2 after i got my ps3), it's not the flagship sony game in my mind....then again i didn't think MGS was their flagship either, apparently it is. FF was always the most attractive thing about the ps2/ps3 to me
either way in the end, i'll prolly buy it for ps3 anyways because the 360 version will be at LEAST 3 discs i imagine :D -
This is a massive coup for microsoft imo. Huge win for them. The 360 built itself mostly on shooters, and now seems to be moving into more avenues, first with a game like Mass Effect and now geting Final Fantasy.
Bigtime move for them whether or not your a final fantasy fan :) -

Now, if you put FF13 into context with Infinite Undiscovery, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, The Last Remnant, and Tales of Vesperia, then the 360 has something going... but then you remember that Sonata, Remnant, and FF13 are also PS3 games, and Versus 13 is still PS3-exclusive, and then there are PS3 RPGs that won't get ported over, like White Knight Story.
Minor victory.
