When you say "IMs" do they mean Sony's messaging system? Or will there be some kind of AIM/Yahoo integration (not sure if they touched on it)?

I downloaded it last night and its very convenient. I haven't tried out a lot of the features yet but the in-game XMB is wonderful in terms of making the whole PS3 flow so much better. As far as the trophies go right now there isn't a lot of games supported but that is supposed to pick up as game developers put out patches for old games and add it in for new ones.
Obviously you have no choice but to download it but it is well worth it as it makes everything so much easier.
Some key features I've tried and loved so far are:
the ability to message friends in-game
the new clock feature is handy
I'm sure the more I try the more I'll learn but for right now the 2.40 update delivers on what was promised and still has room to grow (its sad PS3 owners are just now getting the features the 360 has had forever and getting excited over it and that includes me).

The first link doesn't work and the second link leaves me asking questions. Since Sony has pulled it does it mean us with 2.40 already will be forced to downgrade or can we keep it. Also since a new 2.40 will have to be released I wonder how long it will take and if us 2.40 owners will need to switch to it?
