Two Teams Enter....
One Team Leaves.
September 27, 2015
The Buffalo Bills marched into SunLife Stadium, and rolled over a listless and lazy Miami Dolphins team. We all watched as Charles Clay gashed us left, gashed us right, and found his way into the endzone with little resistance from the Aqua and Orange. Rex Ryan stood by wearing dark shades, symbolizing the rough and tough identity he hoped to stamp on the team from Northern New York.
I remember wanting to punch him in the face.
Their defensive line savaged Ryan Tannehill all day long. Buffalo would amass 21 first downs, and pillage Miami for 428 Yards, 277 by air, 151 by ground.
Miami's faithful would turn their vengeance at the Coaching staff, calling for the heads of Joe Philbin and Kevin Coyle. They would need to wait only one more week before Owner Stephen Ross would see the light, and send Philbin and Coyle packing. Ross would turn to little known TE Coach Dan Campbell to try and resurrect the Phins from the ashes of waste two teams from New York had left on the Gridiron. The news spread fast...Dan Campbell, Interim Head Coach. Who was he? What kind of experience did he have? Could he really make a difference?
We sat on the edge of our chairs, waiting to listen to our new Interim Coach. It wasnt long before Miami fans would realize.......we had hired a Danimal. He spoke of riding the edge, of becoming a tough nosed team that would compete each and every day. His first practice: The Oklahoma Drill.
He Vowed a Sleeping Beast had been Awoken.
Over the dark blue Atlantic, dark clouds began to form, rip currents began to boil.....
As A Storm Began to Form.
The Storm crashed into Tennessee first, leaving a bruised and battered Titan team mumbling incoherently about how the Dolphins had played to rough.
It hovered over Sun Life Stadium, waiting patiently for the Houston Texans, a team the Dolphins had never beaten, to march their colors onto our home turf. The field ran red as the Storm destroyed the team from Houston, the damage reflected in an almost unbelievable 41-0 Half Time Lead.
The Miami Dolphins had roared to life, and taken on the personality of their new leader, proud and defiant after what had seemed so long.
But as it is in life, A Storm will go through stages, it will weaken as it crashes into a formidable wall, often dying down as it travels North. On short rest, and unable to practice in its new trademark way, our Miami Dolphins would fall to the New England Patriots, a team angry in its own right, and determined to take its wrath out on the entire league. Those that bleed the aqua and orange, would find their hearts stopped, as #91 Cameron Wake, The Kracken, would fall on the field of battle, his Achilles tendon ruptured. We looked to the skies....had the Storm vanished? Was this to last only a short time, a brief respite from the agony of a losing season?
Two Teams Enter.....
One Team Leaves.
With an extended week to rest, and a competition filled practice that would see the Aqua and Orange defenders trade their jerseys in for black on black, the skies again begin to darken. The Witch Of November watches and waits, her explosive energy pulsating, begging to be released on our very familiar enemy far to the North. An Offensive Line, called weak and futile by many, waited to lead the charge onto the field of green in Orchard Park, NY. A Defensive Line seethed and paced, angry by the showing they presented against the Bills the last time. It was all to familiar, being run over by the Buffalo Blue. But this time, .....this time it would be different. A Beast has Awoken.
Somewhere in the dark, a man who bears the number 17, grits his teeth and sees in his mind eye what he must do tomorrow. He must be at the lead as HIS TEAM LEAVES....victorious in the North.
A Storm Is Coming.
Tomorrow afternoon, the NFL will be witness to a defining moment for this franchise. Tomorrow afternoon, 46 warriors donning the Aqua and Orange will stand as one, and proclaim to the world that THIS IS THEIR TIME. THEY WILL take on the persona of their new leader and fight, scratch, and claw for every single inch, and win. They will raise their Battle Standard high into the sky....and plunge it deep into the heart of Rich Stadium. They will leave with a record of 4 and 4, the Storm gathering more and more as it prepares to unleash hell across the NFL Landscape.
The Beast Has Awoken.....and it's name
MIAMI

Dope post my man, didn't think it was possible but you got me even more pumped for the game!
This is a HUGE game for both teams. I don't think we can fall to 3-5 (0-4 in the division) and expect to realistically compete for a wildcard berth so if we are going to make a legitimate run it starts tomorrow.
I'm interested to see how we respond to our first loss under Campbell and losing Wake. We have to establish the running game. Regardless if it's not clicking in the early going don't abandon it. Im hoping Ryan can be a difference maker and if he doesn't have his A game going, don't put us in bad positions with costly turnovers. Im not very confident that we can pick up a win against a team we struggle against mightily, but I'll be watching and cheering every step of the way!vt_dolfan likes this. -

We gotta do this tomorrow. The team has but to truly believe they can...and they will. -
We're gonna get this done tomorrow, I have a good feeling about it.
-
I hope this team practiced hard this week if we're gonna have a chance to come back into this season. Need to keep the intensity from our wins.

Great stuff VT... Attitude. This game tomorrow is about attitude. Believe we can and we will. Front foot... balanced attack. Don't react. Be proactive. Set the tone from the first play of the game to the last. Hit em in the mouth. Knock em down until they bleed. All three phases. It's actually a good thing we had a Thursday game because we've had a mini bye to get ready for this (Buffalo is coming off a bye as well). This is our season. Put it all out there. Everything on the line. Believe.

Good **** vt!
It's time for payback. I hope Campbell reminded the players about what happened week 3 in our home opener when they came in and embarrassed us. I know Tannehill brought it up in his interview so I'm sure it's on their minds.
Punch them in the mouth early. Punch them in the mouth often. This ain't the same team they saw earlier.
Let's go Dolphins!!!vt_dolfan likes this. -

I feel much better about this game than the previous game vs Buffalo, but I still think we lose - close one this time. Our issues on Oline are just too much to overcome vs the worst matchup every year on our schedule

We have a recent history / trend of beating Rexy in his house...3 years running. Let's see 4!

Due to a string of events we have at work, I won't be able to watch today. Good news is is that I didn't watch the Tennessee and Houston games either. Hopefully I can come back to another W this afternoon. Fins up!

Still trying to find where to watch the Dolphins play online, but I did just read an interesting stat...
Rex Ryan has a 1-4 record as head coach following the bye.
I have a strong feeling Campbell's going to take a page out of "Gladiator"
