numerous other ex-Dolphin players on the air. I would give him some credit.Aquafin, Section126, mi2cents and 2 others like this. -
Here's an article from a similarly small-market newspaper that's an exemplar of convincing journalism based on objective data IMO:
http://www.newarkadvocate.com/article/20121230/SPORTS/312300036/Why-OSU-won-t-win-Big-Ten
And I'm an Ohio State fan, so I'd rather hear the opposite of all that. Nonetheless, it's convincing. -

he is stating the obvious.
I feel the miami area radio scene is rather dull, reactionary, and not very insightful, does this writer have a link to a stream of his radio show?
I used to really like Bokamper's Dolphins radio show, but alas, dustbin for it, would like to find a replacement b/c there is some really crappy Miami area radio coverage of our phins.NolesNPhinsFan likes this. -

that was just a rant that regurgitates a lot of what we read here with nothing else. the only sentence even worth discussing would be Polian or Jeff Ireland? I was giving Polian some credit for the Colts season this year until I heard how much dramatic turnover they had on that roster. Polian built a good team around Manning, but then drove that roster into the ground towards the end.

And imo very informative.
Usally the local media does not talk bad about the home team. It's biting the hand that feeds. So this is a big deal.
They also have Mike Dee and Stephen Ross on once in awhile.Rocky Raccoon likes this. -

I hate Ireland. I agree this was nothing more than a rant.
-
If this were twice as poorly written, but pro-Ireland, it would be praised a brilliant piece of journalism by the Ireland fan club.

I agree with the article, there isn't anything factual to argue that Ireland has been anything other than average, he's nothing special. We should be aiming higher, hopefully he improves this year.

He knows we need playmakers. Philbin knows it. Sherman knows it too. It's not like he hasn't been aggressive before. Let's see how it plays out.Serpico Jones likes this. -

Ireland embodies what some people are willing to accept, which is mediocrity. The team has essentially become the Detroit Lions of the AFC, with the only difference being 1-15 vs 0-16. Forget the bad picks in the draft, it's the moving around in the draft to make them that is beyond trying to understand. Being so in love with a player that you neglect areas of need, and then miss on the pick. Save me the "acorns" he has found, because they don't outweigh the mistakes in the draft, and this isn't an oak tree farm he is running. In case you aren't aware it is the worst teams in the NFL who draft poor. For this just look at the Phins over the last 10 years and how many of the 1st & 2nd round picks are still on this team
Give me the playmakers on the Dolphins...Wake, and who have they given him on the line to help the rush? Tannehill, and who have they given him? Nobody. Hartline is a #2 receiever, who I am sure they will overpay for fear of NE getting him. Chad Johnson, Ernest Wilford and Brandon Marshall have been your studs over the last 4 years. Only BM was worth a **** and becasue he was a "bad teammate", or screwed with the "team chemistry", some think the trade was right. Does anyone really think Michael Irvin was a good teammate? And guess what the "team chemistry" is about as good as Anne Heche & Harrison Ford in 6 Days 7 Nights with & without BM. Beyond Wake, and questionably RT the rest of the team is mediocre. They had a below .500 record which equals mediocrity.
While the writing in the article may be poor, the facts are in it.MrClean likes this.
