That penalty got me thinking.
There is an infinite amount of fractions between any two points on a number line. That means there's an infinite amount of space between two points on the same plane. That also means there's an infinite amount of time between two points in time. If all that is true, the key to time travel isn't speed, but size. The same goes for multidimensional travel.
Yay or nay?

how would you use this to skip in time?
for the record its the most unfair penality there is they should just put the ball on the 1 yrd line if there is not enough to back it up the full amount of yards and trhen move the first down marker forward for whatever yards are remaining. -

OK I see what your trying to do here. You want to quantify space and time. By making things bigger you are saying you can cover more distance in a shorter time. I dont think that works but I think I can at least see your theroy. Am I close to having it?
-
Gish is wrong as he is not understanding what you are trying to say which is if you halve the distance it will be infinite. Which is a limit.
Both of you are wrong for having those hair cuts.

Force = mass x acceleration
in your theroy, the only thing that changes is mass. higher mass means higher force, higher force means more work. Which means it takes more energy to move the same distance in less time. The opposite being true if you were smaller. Less energy, more time. Either way, there is no shortcut. To go faster you must exert more energy. -
now you guys are going into discussions of inertia. awesome.
worst.

the idea of time travel is pretty stupid. time is a concept. it was created to keep track of things that happen and will happen. the idea that all the particles of the universe are also aware of this concept, is dumb. traveling faster than light doesnt make you go forward in time. it simply gets you somewhere before the light from which you came. time his still moving at the same "pace". after all, isnt time just the speed of the universe? a relative syncronization of how fast everything moves? traveling through time is about as likely as shoving a turd up your butt and having an undigested NY Strip come out your mouth.

Half agree with FinD. Size matters but it's thickness and width they want.

I don't know about all this time travel stuff, but "Half the Distance to the Goal" would make an incredible album title.

let me ask you this. if the amount of "time" it takes for the earth to revolve was not constant, then how would we measure time? After all, every time increment we have is based upon an earth day. an hour is 1/24th of an earth day. a minute is 1/60th of an hour. a second is 1/60th of a minute. If we had no constant to compare these things to, would time exist at all? The idea that all matter can return to a previous state just because we know it once existed in that state is stupid. And the idea that we could fast forward to states of matter that dont even exist yet is even dumber. Parallel dimensions are dumb. Alternate universes are within the realm of possibility, but to think that they mirror this one is dumb.
If time travel were possible, who would be the most likely person to have achieved it? I'll give you a hint. He can turn water to wine, walk on water, and rise from the dead. He also promised he would "return to earth". Anyone think Jesus Christ was the most successful time traveler of alltime, creating a worldwide change in belief, causing countless future wars and deaths waged in his honor, and changing the world in ways not even he could have foreseen, perhaps erasing his own existence? I dont think so either. But I think its more likely than other theories. -
If you were able to travel in time you'd also better be able to travel through space. If you moved back 6 months for example, the earth would be on the other side of the sun, a sun which would be around 2 Billion miles away from where it is now due to how fast it's moving through the milky way, and that's before you calculate the galaxies movement.

but think about this:
if a guy on a planet 1 light year away was watching a group of bro's was holding a light year long stick, and he suddenly got jabbed in the groin by said stick, he would have to wait a year to watch and see who actually poked him in the jewels.
you get a full year with no bro repercussions!
