With this blow up as well as the weight room incident,is there any way we could pry Harvin from MN? He would bring some much needed speed.

Miagraines + Propensity to blow up = No Thank You
Damn talented though. I'd like him, but I don't think we have the veteran offensive presence to handle him. For example, Randy Moss went to NE and played with a SB winner/HOF QB and a HOF coach. Here he's coming to rooks at both positions. It could work, but I'm not sure about him. For all his speed though, Harvin averages 11.8 YPC. He's more utility than burner and his longest play in his career is 53 yards. If we got him, he'd be a supplement with a guy like Mike Wallace who doesn't need as many catches. He'd not fit with a Dwayne Bowe and he'd displace both Hartline and Bess IMO (especially Bess). If the plan is to let Hartline walk, this is not his replacement. Maybe a trade involving Bess, a resigning of Hartline, and a signing of Jennings. The problem though, is that we want to build through the draft so this scenario I would peg at a 10% possibility or less.finyank13, Unlucky 13, NolesNPhinsFan and 1 other person like this. -
Sometimes the talent aint worth the headache.Pun intended.
I don't think he would be a good fit here. -

I'd rather see one of the young RB prospects take over the #1 spot and use Bush the way Harvin is used.

He has some serious problems, even heading all the way back to his days at UF.
He has incredible talent, but I doubt we would want to deal with him. -
Harvin has to at least be a little bit tempting even with the problems. He's a really good player that I think would fit the offense well. Him conflicting with the talent we already have in Bess wouldn't be ideal, and the behavior issues are likely a disqualifier(although I suspect he hasn't hit nearly enough women for some of our members).
I don't know that Tayvon Austin is the same guy. They're pretty similar, but Harvin is about 15 pounds heavier and a much more accomplished rusher. -
He's had the most surprising year of any dolphin imo.Bpk likes this. -
He is a super talented player, and very explosive. He is more of a head case than Marshall or Ricky Williams however and he did have problems at UF. Big risk with a tremendous reward if he could be tamed down. I bet Tannehill would love having him as a target.
-
We wouldn't want ol Rick Speilman to fleece ol Jeff Ireland, would we?
-
I don't think should get this guy. Talented, yes. But if we traded away Marshall because he was a headache, but then turn around acquire this guy, I don't it would be a good look on our part.
-
If he didn't have the headache and injury issues, he'd be worth going after IMO, despite the non-injury issues. but those two together make me grimace a bit. that being said, if it were a decent price (4th), I'd love to have him.

He has been Migraine free all year. The only thing that is concerning are his blow ups. He usually has one it seems every year. -
Harvin is a strong competitor and pretty high effort guy from what I recall.
I'd give a 3rd for him and bring him to an offensive scheme he might enjoy more and allowing him to play 10+ games/year on natural grass than a guaranteed 10+ on injury prone artificial turf.finyank13 likes this. -
I like Harvin but feel like he'd be an over priced risk that rarely pans out in our favor. -
Hmm I just signed him in Madden, he was a free agent. So it must be possible....

Thing is, guys like this, who we pick up, rarely pan out the way one would hope.
IMO we are better off signing younger, hungrier guys who know this is their last and maybe only chance.
Those types pan out for us, the list of name guys we brought in who under performed is long.
Pennington
Wake
Bush
Come to mind. -
As for Percy, hes been called Percy his whole life. You gotta have some attitude with a soft name like that. Of course he's mad. Still, Im not sure Philbin would go for it. Id offer a 2 just cause hes a solid player who gives a different dimension to the offense. -
-
Well Ireland wanted to draft TY Hilton who was considered a poor man's Percy Harvin.
So if he wants that kind of player its not out of the question. -

Fins fans were so damn picky. We want extreme talent and a boy scout. The two don't come together most of the time unfortunately.

Wanting players who are not a constant danger to draw assault charges isn't really an unreasonable hurdle.
