We've seen it over and over again that a rookie who loses time in TC just can't develop in time for the regular season to have an impact...Merling is an important cog now in the development of the DL and Henne, as Ck said, has to be there to have any chance of competing with Beck and McClown...going to be an interesting camp...

 

good, get him in camp...i like henne's potential, hopefully he can try and compete for #1

I can see Merling holding out until the people around him get signed, just because he will most likely want to be compensated as a first round pick.

 

I don't think we had any last year did we ? But yes, through the years we have had too many.

Thats def good news. Merling is far more important to have signed and ready to go in this camp then Henne is IMO. With any luck (and skill), our depth chart will look like:

Beck
McCown
Henne

Merling on the other hand, has a chance to walk into camp, work hard and learn quickly, and walk out a starter.

 

The 35th pick, Brandon Flowers just signed today also. That can only help things with Merling.

 

Pressure on Merling to sign. Will not make Wayne or Bill happy and he'll have to play exceptional to get back their trust.
