I have not always been the biggest henne fan but i will be the first to admit he looked good last night. The only problem i had with his game last night is he struggled in the red zone.
I feel the the damm wildcat has slowed his progressive in this phase of his game because everytime we seemed to get down in the red zone he would get pulled out for damm wild cat and have to come back in when it was 3 and long.

It all comes back to a lack of running game. I've been preaching this since the preseason. Chad Henne is much improved in every part of his game but he cannot do it all himself. He needs help and if the running game doesn't step up and soon then we will continue to struggle in the red zone.

yea, it is ridiculous how we didn't pull out lj for that goal line for whatever reason. Also the only reason I am pissed about that fade throw was because it is a LOW percentage completion and a hard throw especially to Hartline? But he does look a little nervous when he gets down to the redzone. Hopefully he picks it up, but great game by him.

Catch-22, Henne needs more plays throwing the ball into the EZ, but that also means failures until he succeeds at doing it.
Imo, that missed TD throw to BLine, is what seperates a good Qb, from an Elite one, that score would have kept us in the game, completing it when it matters is just something Henne will have to learn, and we all will have to suffer through. -
On a plus side, Henne now has as many dropped interceptions this season as he did all of last season. So maybe his luck has also improved.

I personally don't think many QBs (even Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc) really complete the throw to Hartline there.
If it was going to be a pass, it needed to be a better play design (like Henne's 1st career TD vs Buffalo to Hartline or the TD Brady had to Welker near the GL). But it really should've been a play that Henne never should've had to throw, we were at the half yd line after all.
If we didn't think we could punch it in, we should called a naked bootleg. -
Or a waggle, but a Elite type of Qb just makes it happen in that situation Stitches.
Henne is clearly still learning his craft, which is the upside to having a young Qb starting, he can improve through more play, a guy like Garrard, is what he is, if he does not complete that throw at this stage of his career, he likely never will. -

But, fix the OL and run game and this is a completely different and better offense, even with a few of Henne's issues... -
I thought Henne's struggles around the goal was a "team" effort...play calling, WR and Henne.
On the almost pick, it looked like Marshall was trying to establish inside position and Henne threw it where it needed to be if Marshall did establish inside position. However, he got jammed and stopped dead in his tracks. Can't really fault Henne on that one b/c it was all about timing and relying on his alpha WR to do his part.
On the next pass to Marshall the throw was a little off target and Marshall didn't establish himself deep enough in the end zone...along with dropping the ball.
On the fade to Hartline, Brian was owned on the play. Bad play call. Fade to Marshall a much better option.
I think for Miami to have success around goal line play-calling is going to have to improve...play-action to the TE and hitting RBs coming out of the flat. Fades to Marshall and underneath to Bess since he has the best hands on the team. Rollouts are good option since Henne has shown he can run the ball himself quite well. -
I thought the play calling sucked inside the 5. A fade to Hartline is not a good call. If Romo can throw a fade to Bryant, Henne needs to be able to throw one to Marshall.
That's one area of the field that Fasano and Rosario should always be on the field. -

This would have been a good game to have Ahmad Bradshaw. Dude got a 4 year $18 mill deal. That's close to Reggie Bush's money.
Heck, Mike Tolbert or John Kuhn could have been great short yardage additions. -
Just amazed that the FO didn't see the need or didn't understand not only the improvement for the offense but how much it would help take alot of the pressure off Henne........
But now they are becoming more aware, the options are gone and they scramble to fill the need.....they've done this to often in other areas and you can see a pattern if you want to .........
