ST, CB, RB, G, Edge and LB have all been addressed. still need the QB of future, another RB, S, and more OL help.
Has your dream mock significantly changed?
any new names enter your mind now that other holes have been plugged?
share with the class, everyone is sitting on their *** at home for a bit ;)

Still the same. Would love to take best player available and trade down with 26 with hoping picking up another first next season.
Edit: 5 being Tua, because duh -
QB
Edge
OT
C
RB
S
That would be roughly the order I'd be aiming for, however if players dropped then I'd be willing to overlook position for talent. For example, I just had a mock where the Dolphins left the first round with Tua, Simmons and Chaisson. Realistic? No but shows what I mean in terms of talent v need. -
5 remains QB. Preferably Tua, but I'd take either Herbert or Love if necessary.
18 I would target a tackle, especially if one of the big 4 drops, but if not, Josh Jones. I would also be interested in Javon Kinlaw if he fell.
26 I would be looking hard at the best remaining interior OL. Ruiz, Hennesey and Cushenberry are all possibles.
Round 2 I'd be looking at safeties (Winfield/Davic), running backs (Swift/Dobbins) and maybe pass rush (Baun/Uche).thetylernator and rafael like this. -
My draft board has changed slightly- but I wasn't taking a QB at 5 either. With Tua not being able to work out for teams, I have a feeling he would drop out of the top 10 completely.
At 5, I'm taking an OT or trading back
At 18, a DE or Tua
At 26, I'm looking at RBs
However, I can honestly see a scenario where the draft doesn't even happen until late May or June...which changes these boards completely.mlb1399 likes this. -

At 18 OT seems most likely given how FA has gone so far.
26 and round 2 could be any of OL, S or RB or as a wildcard even WR if the rumors of Wilson being cut are true or if they feel the talent is just too good to pass up.Mafioso, thetylernator and texanphinatic like this. -

Free agency hasn't changed much for me. The only thing that its really done is take the offensive line which was already my number one priority, and shout out loud how big a deal it is and how we need to prioritize it now. Beyond that, I thought that we might go corner with one of the second rounders depending on value, but that's hard to see now.
As before, I want to trade out of #5. Maybe with Jacksonville, or Vegas, or maybe now San Francisco. Unless Chase Young is there, then move down and pick up another premium pick. And then, doing that, with the five picks we'd have by #39, we could get two starters on the offensive line, and three other impact players. Pass rush, safety, and a long term answer at RB are all still big needs. -
Like others have said, QB -> OT -> BPA.
Specifically, I'm hoping for Tua at #5, a trade-up with San Francisco from #18 to #13 to get ahead of Tampa and Denver for the best tackle available (Becton, ideally), then take the best player on the board at #26. Epenesa's stock has seen a dip, Diggs is an option, Delpit, Muti, Cushenberry, etc.
I'm looking at Jonathan Taylor or J.K. Dobbins with #39 and Ashtyn Davis at #56. #70 would ship to SF.
Beyond that, I'd like to see us target depth at the slot (offensively and defensively), nose tackle, and find a true in-line blocking TE to pair with Gesicki.tirty8 likes this. -

I would love to trade up to the 13 spot... But if we do.. I hope that Kinlaw is there... The guy is a monster inside and would be maybe the most important piece to our defense.
I want more O line help.. I think they draft a tackle and a center in the second round... With the 26 pick I think we need to go after the best safety left... McKinney or Delpit.
Kinlaw and Delpit make this the best defensive team in terms of talent since the 70's ( Potentially )
If we do snag Dillon later in the draft... and Tua is the 5th pick we can lean on the running game and on the defense to win football games as Tua learns.
our defense and special teams is going to win us football games moving forward. I think everyone here but that one poster Loves Tua... The guy that said he never made more than one read or hit a receiver that was not already three feet open... ( Name???)
If they move up to 13 and Jones is there and they grab him... Yeah I will be happy because that is a major addition for the O line. If they move up to 13 and take Ruggs I will be just as happy because he is a Tyreek Hill type of player that changes the field... Combined with Parker and Williams we would have a top 10 wide receiver trio to put out there in front of Tua.
Any of these three scenarios are fantastic.tirty8 likes this. -
Not particularly, I still think we need many of the things we did before in the early rounds that were a priority to me, but at the same time I do think it gives us more flexibility in the later rounds.

Again, that doesn't mean that some people here don't like Tua...it's that they don't like his history with injuries vs. the cost it would take to sign him.The_Dark_Knight, MAFishFan and Hooligan like this. -
I think in the Rivers thread my reply to you was maybe a bit rude so I apologize for that if you took offense to it.Etrius24 likes this. -
I didn't know that Tua has never played a full season because of injuries. That's pretty damning. Do we really need a very talented part time QB?
I was also surprised to learn that Pat White still holds the NCAA record for rushing yards by a QB. That's an indication of how durable he was,, at the college level.Unlucky 13 likes this. -
Just a thought, not even a hunch really.... but will the corona virus limits on meetings and workouts impact the Tua Train hype and reduce his Toot Toot? Will Tua slide?
-
No worries about the other thread...I rarely take offense to anything here. We all have our own opinions and that's cool by me. I do like Tua a decent bit, but I'm not convinced that he's worth #5 overall AND that someone else would take him in the top 10. I could be way off-base and I fully realize that....but it's my personal opinion anyway. -

All good man.... We just had an amazing week as an organisation. They have really shown they have a plan and they are building this team with hard hitting high character players... I have not been this excited to be a Dolphins fan since Jason Taylor was in MVP formHooligan, Surfs Up 99 and AGuyNamedAlex like this. -
If The Dolphins landed Burrow for Howard... Our 18th pick and a second round pick next year... I would do it in a heartbeat.
If they wanted a couple low level picks on top of this to sweeten the deal.... I would do that also... Like a 5th this year and a 5th next year... On top of the 18th pick and our second round pick next year.
I just do not see any logical argument for the Bengals to trade down though.... THEY NEED A QB
Unless they really liked say Love and felt that he would be there for them at the 18 spot... They trade down... Get Howard and three or four extra draft picks....
If they would do that.... We need to make it happen.
If the trade was the Dolphins giving up the 5th pick, Howard, a second next year... and low level throw ins Yeah I am still down with it.
I like Tua... But if we are trading up.... I would much rather it be for Burrow.
Trading Howard frees up a ton of cap space... If we end up cutting Wilson and trade Howard we can make a couple more decent signings...KeyFin and texanphinatic like this. -

I don't know how Cinci can trade the first overall and NOT end up with #5. If that happens Greir should be executive of the millennium and the Bengals should be sent to the XFL.
18, next year's #1 (whichever is lowest) and Howard for the first overall? That's an insane deal imo.
Also just for fun I did a recent mock that had me picking Tua, Wills and McKinney, which I found amusing.
More interesting is that I am seeing the big tackles reaching 18 in a fair number of mocks, which is good for us considering our lack of FA urgency in that regard. Nabbing Wills or Thomas in the first and someone like Niang in round 2 or Peart in (plus a g/c like Ruiz, Cush, Biadesz or Hennessy) would be ideal.Last edited: Mar 20, 2020KeyFin and Unlucky 13 like this. -
Based on the draft pick value chart, which I understand is only a rough guideline, the #1 pick is worth 3000 points. The #18 pick is worth 900 points. So you would have to assume that Howard is worth something in the neighborhood of the #3 pick for him to be worth this supposed trade.
Now, if you suggest that the Dolphins trade #5 and Howard for the #3 pick from the Lions, and then trade the #3 pick and the #18 pick to the Bengals for the #1, then that's plausible. I'm not in favor of it, but its sane.KeyFin likes this. -
I think I'm more interested in OLB/SS Simmons after our signings, More interested in DL Brown, Kinlaw, Espinoza.
More interested in Dobbins and Swift at RB. More interested in Delpit at FA.
Same level of HIGH interest in OT and Center Biadasz. -

However, should he be healthy and not in trouble with the law, the contract itself shouldn't look like a burden at all for another club. They'd have him locked up at about 12m per year through 2024 with zero dead money on their end. -
My wishlist is and has always been, fix the freaking line problems! Without that evolving massively, this organization will remain a thing of the past.
I've been reading that the Redskins coach really loves Tua. If I were the Dolphins FO, I would make a serious offer for Dwayne Haskins. Say give them our 3rd pick n the 1st and maybe two later ones to get that done. I think they would go for that the way the noise is coming from Redskin camp. Then they would take Tua at #2 and we still have Love, whom I like better than everyone not named Burrow.
None of this stuff really matters though if you still have the worst Oline in the league and your Defense isnt completely dominant to save you. Too many holes to fill to throw all the eggs in the QB basket. Thats why the successful organizations continue to dominate while others flounder. Please let us get back on the right track and don't knee-jerk and mortgage the farm.
