He has already cost us two imo. Today and greenbay, both with awful conservative play calling and misuse of timeouts.

What did he do wrong today? Seriously!? He doesn't call the plays so stop that. The timeout had no effect on reshad Jones not covering Riddick well enough either. In fact, the timeout might have helped getting Jordan in on Johnson on the play prior

Pi. He'll cost us Pi games.

He's not responsible for today's loss. The Lions are for scoring more points in the allotted 60 minutes of game time.

I don't know that Philbin is particularly responsible for this loss given that he's responsible for very little.
Did he **** up the game clock?(Arguably before the half, yes but it didn't matter). Did he **** up a challenge(no). Did the team come out in a fashion indicative of poor practicing, scheduling, or overall management?(ehhh maybe but it's hard to tell).
You can't pin the blame on Philbin but it's a game that theoretically gets him closer to being fired, which is almost as good as a win. -
-
Dont like Philbin but he didnt cost us todays game. Last time he did something to affect the game was against Green Bay. Hasnt done anything wrong since.
-
He's cost us 3 games thus far, don't forget about the Chiefs game. 2 & 1 Philbin & Lazor call 2 straight passes which result in an incompletion and a sack.
-
How about this as a reason for the loss...if you don't get the ball on the three yard line after the blocked field goal you would have scored three maybe four field goals. You cannot count the drop by Clay because guys on both teams had drops. That play to get into the endzone to wallace was pretty slick though.
-
Redzone offense has been bad this year and that reared it's ugly head again today.
-
I think this is one of those losses where one or two bounces and we would've won. (i.e. Clay hanging on to that ball, or converting on a 3rd down up 3).
This was always going to be a tough game. Playing a top defense away in a dome coming off a bye who was getting healthy at just the right time. I'm a little impressed by the overrall performance to be honest.
I thought there were a couple opportunities for Tannehill to slide in the pocket to give himself better looks downfield, maybe break the pocket one or two times to make something out of nothing, but I won't nitpick too hard.
The drop off between Finnegan and Taylor is alarming. That gap should not be as wide as it is.
The most crushing thing about this loss is losing Albert. Otherwise win or lose and the Buffalo game was going to be a must win anyway -
Philbin knew that Stafford was going to roll to his left and throw a perfect sidearm pass to their 3rd string rb. It unacceptable that he did nothing to stop it.
Seriously though, we lost because we couldn't get a td on our final trip to the redzone. That, and our predictably horrible 4 minute offense.

In the season of the image of the Spartan Shield, and what it means as the greatest weapon of unity....its clear so far:
Joe Philbin is our Ephialtes.
Yes, he wants so desperately to be part of what leads to wins, but sadly he lacks the skills to achieve that, truly. He is deformed in his own right, and figuratively speaking "cant lift the shield to protect his brothers to his left or right". A weakness in the end. Costing us all.

Yeah, he keeps throwing out the term "internet tough guys." I don't think it means what he thinks it means.
And he keeps doing what he accuses others of doing. Like "Hop off your high horse, Mr know it all," then proceeds to climb up on his trusty steed, and loftily declares, "I seriously doubt you know more about the Dolphins than me."LI phinfan likes this. -

Now its on Philly? No, we lost the game. Could have scored a TD and could have forced OT. The players failed. It was a good game against a good team.
-
Is Philbin only responsible for losses, or is there a how many wins did Philbin get us thread that I missed?

Philbum sucks and im tired of his defensive timeouts in 2 minute drills. He SHOULD already have the correct personnel out there so that's a lame duck excuse.
But more importantly, yes he did cost us the game. a 3 and out with 3 mins to play back at our own 20. Sorry.. but puzzy football isn't my thing. Our running game was getting shredded all day apart from a few decent ones.
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. NOT PUNT IT BACK AND LET THEM GO ON A GAME WINNING DRIVE. -

I was perhaps most frustrated with the final defensive play / TD and the defense Coyle called.
It's 3rd down, you know they are going for a TD shot with no TOs left and if they don't get it will settle for a FG and OT.
So, why rush 3 when they are on the 10? It's not like it's 3rd and 20. By rushing three, you allowed Stafford either an abundance of time or the chance to scramble and not be contained in the pocket (exactly what happened).
As soon as the play began I thought, "Why rush only 3?" - They should have rushed 4 and tried to collapsed the pocket but force a throw. As it was they still had one-on-one coverage of a Safety on a WR. Yeah, that's a great D to be in! #smhPaul 13 likes this. -

That was two teams playing their tails off yesterday. The players lost that game.
