I went to the Dolphins site and the news is from week 5. Anybody have any news on how our boys are healing up? Hoping we are getting healthy quick. Haven't heard about Ellerbee's shoulder or anyone. Hungry for news.

Jenkins has shown some descent wheels for Ellerbee. I hope Patterson and Soliai and in though! Glad to see Wake at practice.
-
no word yet how it went, but Patterson was about to try out his groin today as well
edit:
-
Paul Soliai and Michael Egnew were completely absent...i would think/hope its a personal reason for Paul, since it looked like he came out of that ravens game fine

I'm not expecting good news on Dannell Ellerbe. I don't expect to see him against the Bills.
I don't expect to see Dimitri Patterson either but that's sort of a "if history is any judge" thing.
I'm as baffled as anyone about the Soliai/Egnew absences. I don't recall either looking like they took any hurts in the Balitmore game. -
so we have determined that Patterson is glass and/or lazy? Just wants to collect money for doing nothing seems the norm for him. What is the injury that has Ellerbe beat up? I know he has been injured I just haven't caught what it is completely (forearm?).

Ellerbe himself said he expects to play against the Bills.
Something makes me skeptical though. Dimitri Patterson said no less leading up to the Colts game and he hasn't played since. -
Why haven't we put Patterson on IR yet?
-
No I doubt it's any kind of strategy. I think it's players being optimistic and thinking they can play through anything. Or at least players wanting to give that impression to the media.

While Ellerbe battles through another injury, Dansby out in Arizona leads all inside/middle LBs in passes defensed and sacks. As Ellerbe struggles to stay healthy, this entire signing, coupled with Dansby either taking a reduced salary or taking a hike, looks like another case of Ireland out thinking himself. Before free agency this past off season, linebacker was already one of our stronger positions. So, what does Jeff do? Rather than focusing on team weaknesses, he decides to revamp something that really didn't need it. Wheeler for Burnett was a wash, and Ellerbe for Dansby was downgrade. IMO. Granted, there is 2/3s of the season left, but that is how it looks to me now anyway. At the time, of the signings I was apprehensive but decided to remain positive, wait and see. It's like your car is running fine, but you decide to replace the motor anyway.

I supported moving on from Dansby because he never looked like the player we signed from Arizona. Then I saw him yesterday back in a Cardinals uniform looked fast and physical like he did before coming to Miami. I don't get it

Seems to be a recurring theme around the league - Big FA contract, then getting fat and lazy. Get's booted and starts performing again... some of it has to be scheme and use though.
I'd put that more on Philbin and Coyles dumping him as they didn't like his mouth and injury history coupled with lack of making plays here. -
My ego is still injured after the last two losses in a row and seeing how the chosen son "Tom Brady" gets a miracle comeback one again.... (yes hes good doesn't mean I have to like him!) Just wish some of that luck would flow south for a few years...

Some guys just belong somewhere I guess.
Like when Jason Taylor went to the redskins. Redskins fans thought their pass rush was going to explode.ToddPhin likes this. -
I think the D will improve when Wake, Patterson, Ellerbe, etc get healthy. The injuries on D just so happened to coincide w/ the elite QB portion of the schedule, Luck-Ryan-Brees-Flacco is no joke even in the best of circumstances, we faced those guys w/o our best pass rusher and 3 of our top 5 CB's. -
Thats when as a HC you buy respect by winning games and nothing gets guys' attention like seeing "safe" players get cut and lose millions. -
Replacing the former with the latter was a bad decision, IMO.
