The Saints really adjusted well in the locker room to us at half. We all know that Brees is bad ***. But yep, that is a problem. No Will Allen in the 4th also.

 

When you throw the ball on offense and get off the field so quick, and the Defense is stuck out there the second half what do you expect. Yes they didn't help either, but neither did our offense or our coordinator.

 

Didn't help the offense stopped moving the ball.

And why did Paul P. stop with the exotic looks they were doing a number on that offense/

 

The offense was 3 and out for much of the 2nd half... What do you expect? Those guys were dog tired against the best passing attack in the NFL.

 

Yep and the D looked like it ran out of steam too so did the O line. I think the TD and the end of the first half had some play in that mentaly for the whole team.

 

Hard to blame the D when they give the offense a 24-3 lead with just over a minute to play in the first half. Bess fumbles the ball hat leads to the first Saints TD, and it killed momentum. Then the pick six. Two pick sixes, and it's the defenses fault? I don't buy it.

Defense didnt allow 40+ points...there was a couple pick 6s

There is no excuse for letting a TE stiff arm you for 20 yds down the field.

There is no excuse for leaving WRs WIDE open like that.

 

That part really confuses me too. Its not like the saints OL just all of a sudden remembered how to block in the second half. Our defensive scheme seemed to totally change in the second half. Alot of the blitzes we had run, seemed to just... disappear. We didn't get nearly as much pressure, and our DB's weren't around, or even close enough to WR's to make plays like they did in the first half... Something definately not right with that.

 

Our defense played their asses off and put us in position to win this game against a team that destroyed the Giants early on.

The blame falls on having a lack of offensive playmakers that can put a game away when we start out with an early lead like this. No team is going to hold Brees in check for 4 qtrs.

If anything, I feel bad for our D. They laid it on the line for us today and we couldn't capitalize. You gotta keep putting points on the board to throw your opponent out of their game which keeps forcing turnovers. Look what happened in the beginning- we scored points and it made things hard for NO and allowed us to create big defensive plays. The second half we couldn't score and it, taking the pressure off NO allowing them to play their game and come back to win it.

we got off to a nice lead because we had 14 points off of turn overs.
as soon as the saints got 14 points off turn over as well.... the game went exaclty like most people predicted. they threw the ball all over us in the 2nd half.

giving up those 14 points on turn overs. then our offense going soft and giving the ball back to the saints too much, cost us the game.
not to mention the loss of will allen on top of the that. certainly doesnt help when you lose your number one DB while playing the top ranked offense.

 

I agree with you on Wilson... He ALWAYS tackles high and against big TE and that specific play is more execution than fatigue... But that's one play, and one guy. I'm speaking of the entire D.

The defense was tired as **** and it was obvious. It was a tale of two halves. Our offense became ridiculous with 3 and outs and slowly our D wore down. Our dline lacked penetration, which hurt our run defense and hurt our coverage (especially since we were blitzing quite a bit).

I'm sorry, but the offense has to take some of the responsibility for not only the loss, but the play of the defense...

How many times did the defense sack Brees? How many turnovers did the D force? They def. did their job to the best of their ability. Tonight, the offense let them down. Whether that's WR/TE dropping passes, or Henning giving up on 3rd and long and being resigned to punt or kick FG, or going 3-out forcing the D to defend against the best passing attack in the NFL without so much as a breather.

 

Not to mention the 14 points the refs gave them directly or indirecly on crap calls. I could understand maybe not getting some calls, but we lost every close call and the Bess fumble (when he had his knee on the ground) resulted in a Brees TD that cut the lead to 24-10 before halftime...that was what turned the game around.

 

No it was obviously Ted Ginn Jr's fault that we lost.
