Just say hypothetically, that the Dolphins wanted to move on from Martin. Does he have any trade value?? Just hypothetically.
Who has the guts to weigh in on this? Is there any courage on this board?
In my opinion it is at the least an interesting way to judge the value of a player.
I am tempted to say he has no value but because of his age,character,intelligence, and the fact that he is healthy and has a little experience on both sides I would have to believe a team like the Packers might give a 7th.

Wow, ...and the winner for worst thread during training camp is....you.
You don't trade your LT unless you have a replacement who is competent. Especially for your scenario of trading for a 7th round pick, which is really no value whatsoever.
Did you really want Dallas Thomas or John Jerry to be Martin's replacement? Unless the Packers come calling with a 2nd round pick out of desperation, it's not even worth a discussion. -

What trade value do you think Reshad Jones had after his first season...asking that when a player is not performing, or not at where you want him to be, is an easy thing to do. -
So... I have a new puppy. It's tiny. Prior owner claimed it was a yorkie pom cross breed. First dog ever, any advise? And if you feel compelled to point out that it's not a manly dog, let me respond in advance that my ***** is huge, so I'm okay with that.

Yikes, Can't believe this is a thread here today... for many reasons actually. I won't get into that though.
Trade value... If you really want me to answer, maybe a 4th if we are lucky, but likely 5th or 6th. Which is exactly why you don't trade him.
Look, I'm not to high on the kid either. It's his second year though, which is really his first at LT in the NFL, even though it was his natural position in college. There's a difference between RT, and LT really. I think we need to give him time still. Again, I'm not very optomistic on him, but you can't cut him loose now. Especially without a replacement. That's just ridiculous. You see what you've got, how he progresses, and you work from there.
The one thing I would be doing however, is finding a quality depth guy behind him right now, just in case he can't cut it. That player may very well be on the roster too. Only time will tell at this point. -

LOL. That video is amazing. I like how the Manning bros do these types of commercials. They have fun with their stardom, nothing wrong with that. Still my favorite manning commercial is this one;

As for this thread, please don't let my post derail this, as someone referred to it as a "troll thread", as I have nothing to add to it. :wink2: -
If the Dolphin have a decent year on offense, but Martin is deemed a liability going forward. I could see the Dolphins using their first round draft pick in 2014 to upgrade the LT position. Right now I don't think Martin would be worth more than a 6th or 7th round draft pick if the Dolphins tried to trade him at this point. Of course this would never happen because they just don't have any other offensive lineman on the roster who can effectively play the LT position.
Of course there is still a huge question if Martin can play the LT effectively on the course of an entire season. It is a shame that with all the money spent on the offensive line over the past five years. This unit is still seen as the biggest question mark and just may be one of the worst offensive lines in the entire NFL. -

Think we can get Jake Long from St. Louis for Jonathan Martin and a 4th round pick?
