If we take another QB in 2020 I would be for it. I just am concerned about the height.

Take, but don’t mortgage the future for him. I probably wouldn’t be willing to give up more than 2 first rounders for him. 2 firsts (this year and next year or 2021) and maybe a 2nd would be my ceiling.

Man id be all over this, we don't have a franchise quarterback and with a team needing a spark this kid definitely brings this. Yeah hes smaller, but so was Doug flutie, Drew Brees, and Russel Wilson, and even Fran Tarkenten. The kid is exciting to watch and will fill some seats. He has a good arm and makes play happen with his feat! Not sure what we would have to give up but I would not be against this move!

We're five minutes into this rebuild and you guys just went from six to midnight over a 5'8 QB.

Yes...definitely....This whole process should start with finding a franchise level quarterback at all costs. I realize that a lot of you want to tank through a season and go 2-14 for a chance at....I don't know...Justin Herbert, and that may very well happen anyway. However....We need to draft a quarterback and continue to do so until we find the right one to lead this team back to relevance. I realize that building the same trenches that we have been trying to build since oh....2003 is still a priority for most of us (it is for me as well), but again...If we have an opportunity to draft Kyler Murray, we need to do it. Once you find a franchise quarterback, all the other things seem to find a way of working themselves out. A franchise quarterback makes everybody on the team better on both sides of the ball. I believe Murray is going to be electric box office material in the NFL. Same impact that Russell Wilson, Doug Flutie, and Deshaun Watson have had. We can win with him and this team can go places. If he does fail, you draft another one.

I don’t even want him on the team. Rg3 anyone? Too fragile. So say he comes in and is tearing it up. Week 8. We are 6-2 or better. Week nine. Up by 15 in the third quarter. Big hit. He is out for the year. We win 2 more games on guts. Then we’re 8-8 again. And out of position for a top qb again. Thats if he can actually ball out in the nfl. To much of a gamble for me. Russell. Flutie. Tarkington. Are a combined 1-6 in superbowls. The superbowl teams all had legendary defenses. Brees is 6-1. So not under six like the others. Strong pass for me.

If he is there at 13, pull the trigger. Take talent.

And Although the article states that he is going to the NFL and passing on baseball, how can we be absolutely sure this is not a tactic to avoid the A's rights to him. I believe that in two years, he would be a free agent in MLB. Will he then return to baseball or play both? Not sure I would want a dual playing QB. Outside this, I would give him a chance based on his skill level.

The height thing is a complete non-factor to me. If this were 1988 then I could understand it. The kid showed up in games featuring NFL-caliber offensive and defensive lineman.

Today's NFL has specifically configured the game to be easier on QB's, especially in regards to how they can be hit. Then you have RPO's, spreads, and horizontal concepts allowing playmakers like Murray to move a pocket and create their own passing lanes. We've seen what it's like having to build an O-line around a laterally stiff QB. It's an endless endeavor.

This kid has a solid frame and he will only add to it in the NFL.

If he falls to us I'd take a chance but I don't think i'd make a move up the board to grab him. If he doesn't work out after two years we'd be in position to draft Lawrence in 2020.

I still think I'm more inclined to grab Easton Stuck in the later rounds while trying to grab the best interior Olinemen and Dlinemen I could get.

I agree with you here, Rock, especially how the NFL is changing and it's not like Oklahoma is known for having small, short offensive linemen.

Btw funny story to share.

I was in the crossfire of a debate with Mike Jurecki - who's one of the radio mouth pieces of the Arizona Cardinals. The guy literally jumped down my throat because of my mention of Klingsbury's comments a while back regarding Kyler. He started lecturing me that there was no chance the Cardinals would quit on Rosen.

Exactly. I went back and edited my comment a few minutes ago and said the same thing - both about playing behind big O-lineman, as well as vs. big defensive lineman.

Yes, it's a highlight video, but there are some extremely impressive plays here. How's that first play for avoiding pressure?...and man, he really throws some great deep passes.

As a WVU fan who watched White play for four years on my side, and then watched Murray on the enemy sideline, it was the first thing that sprung to my mind as well. Murray is a more natural, agile runner though. Whereas Pat was fast, but not smooth - kind of like pre-injury Tannehill.

As I said, I want absolutely no part of the style of offense that Murray would be forced to run as QB. I hate it. But I do think that he could make a good slot WR if he wanted to. White was just never suited to play in the NFL at all.

I kind of get the feeling this is going to be like the talk of Baker Mayfield dropping to the phins last year. I think he’ll end up going before we get a chance to pull the trigger.
