Yes! In a heartbeat! I floated that idea before kingsbury was even hired, and now it seems even more plausible. But I dont want to derail this thread.
Pretty weak argument this could happen to anyone. Injuries are part of the game. Miami has zero excitement as a team. 2-3 inches doesn’t change the fact that the kid has an accurate and deep ball arm and can escape the pocket and make things happen with his feet when needed. You can’t live in fear and if we can get him without breaking the bank I’d be excited!! If things don’t work out you trade or move in it isn’t the end of the world for a franchise that’s “rebuilding” we have to take a shot
As someone that has watched both, please explain how they are similar players?
This is a player who I think the combine makes or breaks, not because of his measurable but because the interviews are going to be where teams find out just how committed he is to the NFL. It's all good to come out and say you're 100% committed to being an NFL quarterback when you're most likely to go in the first round but what is your mindset going to be if come next season if you go 4-12 and the fans aren't in love with you? Are you going to run back to Baseball?
If this is true - then IMO we don't go get him. We wait for 2020.
Perhaps I made my point poorly. What I tried to say was that they seem very similar on the surface. White was the immediate comparrison that I made too. But once you dig down, they're pretty different.
But again, I want absolutely no part of Murray either way.
How many hard hits did tannehill take his first season? Imo murray dosnt survive all those hits. Tanny might suck as a qb. But the dude was tough. So why does my opinion have to be a weak argument. I am not any way weak. That was my opinion. Not meant to be an argument starter. Sorry we don’t all think the same.
Merged with other Murray thread in Draft Forum. Will try to keep prospect specific threads in the Draft Forum.
What does it say?
He'll be a top five pick.
I wish that Josh was our guy!
Why? Running through the numbers he was significantly worse than Tannehill was as a rookie before adjusting for era. Based off n the numbers alone there are a lot of red flags.
I’m curious to know what you see.
Now, this is of course a highlight video, so it focuses on the good. But this was a 21 year old rookie, on a bad team with a terrible OL, playing for a coach who would be fired after one season. For me, with what I want in a QB, nearly everything about how he plays the position is absolutely right. Its just what I want in our next QB. Plus he's got lots of room to grow, and again IMO, his makeup and personality are off the charts as well.
Never realized Murray shares the same agent as our newly minted head coach.
It's a weird potential conflict of interest to be sure.
Not take IMO. Potentially if he falls to 13, but I’m all in on next year. Tua, Herbert, etc. going to be bonkers talent in the board.
I think someone ultimately trades pretty far up to get him.
I'll be shocked if he's there by the number 5 pick let alone all the way down in 13. Someone will blink and trade up for him it's just a question of who.
Go on - someone explain to me why a QB wouldn't throw/run etc. at the combine?
He isn't going to be around at #13.
I doubt the Dolphins trade up to get him.
Expect some other position picked in the first round.
These numbers will make Murray unreachable for the Fins.
I don't know if anyone has posted this before. I never had a chance to watch this game. Now, I have mentioned that I like Murray a lot and I still do, but watching this video could certainly give anyone a little pause. Alabama is certainly the closet thing to an NFL D and, aside from a few plays towards the end, they made Murray look kind of average at best.
I just wanted to see what you all thought about how he looked here,
Take it for what its worth, but McCloughan is one of the games best and most well respected evaluators of talent.
He lists outs the Pros (good football player) and the Cons (small in size, will have to fit in right system, personality traits).
Hmmm. He will do measurements one day but no action. Then action with no height measurement? Why? Coincidence? Cant throw good in heels?
All joking aside. I hope the kid does turns out great. I just don’t see it.
Is this a dog and pony show or do the Fins brass have the balls to trade up - whatever it will take? Would Arizona trade out of 1 or pass on Kyler Murray?
