Not a record, but it hasn’t been done since ‘91:

If we're talking SB era, we set the record for most yards from scrimmage in a game at 726. Rams in 1951 had 735, but that was a totally different era.

Unless they bench the starters soon, then it's looking like KC might start stealing some of these stats immediately. 41-0 with 7:40 to go in the 3rd.

And I wasn’t interested enough to try and stream it.
I truly can’t wait for next week’s game against Buffalo and the game against the Chiefs. -
I think Buffalo next week is going to be massive next week. Win that and the division is really ours to lose. You know Milano will be looking for a cheap shot too. -
Thanks for the heads up -

Question - did adding Twitter become a problem here? -
Here's an interesting one ... apparently we set the record for number of voices silenced.

Feeding Frenzy for Fins' Offense
The Dolphins have scored 130 points this season, the second most in a team's first three games of a season in NFL history.
1968 Cowboys 132
2023 Dolphins 130
2013 Broncos 127
1966 Cowboys 127

From ESPN's write up about the game:
In one of the most lopsided games in NFL history, the Dolphins put up 726 yards as the league's best offense went berserk in its home opener. The point total marked a new franchise record and the most points any NFL team has scored since Washington scored 72 against the New York Giants in 1966.
In total, the Dolphins recorded nearly as many rushing yards (350) as passing yards (376), averaging 10.2 yards per play in the process.
The Dolphins are the first team in NFL history to record five passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns in the same game, and the second team in history to record more than 700 yards of offense since the Rams did so in 1951. They are also the first team in history to score 70 points with 700 yards of offense, and the second to record 300 rushing yards and 300 passing yards, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.Phil Hutchings, resnor and Ronnie Bass like this. -

Seems like a decent place to post this.
The last time the Dolphins went 3-0 to start two consecutive seasons was 1995/1996, Don Shula’s last season with the team and Jimmy Johnson’s first.
The Dolphins made the playoffs in 1995 and lost the wildcard game and they missed the playoffs in 1996.
Oh no, why would I post that? Ok, let’s let the 95/96 seasons be a wash since it was 2 different head coaches.
The last time the Dolphins went 3-0 in two consecutive seasons under the same head coach (Shula) was the 1981/1982 seasons.
In 1981, the Dolphins finished the season 1st in the AFC East with an 11-4-1 record, but lost the AFC Divisional playoff game the the San Diego Chargers 38-41 in overtime.
In 1982, the Dolphins, due to the NFL players strike, finished the season 2nd in the AFC East with a record of 7-2 and lost the Super Bowl to the Washington Redskins 17-27.
So it’s been 27 years since the Dolphins started 2 consecutive seasons 3-0…and 41 years since the Dolphins started 2 consecutive seasons 3-0 under the same head coach.
Hopefully this is a pretty good omen for the 2023 season. -
Another record of note is that with the 54-yard touchdown, Tyreek Hill had 2,019 receiving yards in a Dolphins uniform. Per ESPN's Jeff Darlington, that's the most receiving yards in NFL history by a player in his first 20 games with a new team.
Now, imagine if Tua had not been injured last season and Hill's epic season not been put on hold while Teddy B. and Skylar took the reins. -

I said in the other thread that the offence probably should have scored 40+ against both the Chargers and the Patriots if they didn't shoot themselves in the foot and yesterday they were perfect. The only thing that can stop this offence is themselves and even then they overcame a few big penalties yesterday.OwesOwn614, resnor, dolphin25 and 1 other person like this.
