Love the trickery with Ginn throwing "a perfect strike 30 yards down field"! (maybe it should be a 4 way for QB (LOL)).

3:29 p.m.
Beck opened up with a wounded duck throw, but bounced back to finish 4-of-6 in 11-on-11. But his completions were mainly on short passes, which has been a common theme for Beck.
He seems to be struggling to make decisions and ends up opting for the safe throw.
In 7-on-7, the QB needs to get off the throw before a buzzer sounds in three seconds. Beck didn’t beat the buzzer on his first throw, and then seemed to press.
He completed 3-of-5 throws, with WR Greg Camarillo making the catch of day, a one-handed stab in the middle of the field behind LB Channing Crowder that saved a potential overthrow by Beck. -
Glad to hear he bounced back. Get the damn ball out of your hand John! I believe this also has been a problem with Drew Bledsoe when Parcells had him in NE. Bledsoe had problems getting the ball off before the timer in Buffalo as well so its nothing new to the coaching staff and FO as a whole since they were all part of Dallas as was Bledsoe.

On a serious note, is dropping passes in Miami just the nature of the beast down there? Seems the team can't shake it. Chambers had to leave to shake it, and did, and even Booker caught the bug last year. What gives.alen1 likes this. -
That would probably do the trick!! This is the first time I have really read about multiple drops being a problem in camp. From most of what I have read, the WR's have been better then expected. -

So far our the undrafted/late round guys are stealing the show, Foster, Bess, Parmalee, Thomas.
I really like Jayson Foster and Donald Thomas, they both have piles of athletic ability and Foster plays like he has a chip on his shoulder due to his lilliputian size...
And it is good to see that Joey Porter is practicing, I thought maybe Sparano and Ireland were going to "save" him by not working him this Training Camp but fat chance of that happening for JP...Last edited: Jul 29, 2008 -

I think if there was a gun to Sparano's head and he had to make a decision today, McCown would start and Henne would be inserted as soon as the season allows it.
Thankfully for Beck, no decision gets made today. But from the sounds of it, Beck is struggling physically to throw the football (wobbly passes, underthrows, overthrows). Henne is struggling to adapt to the speed of the NFL. I'll take the latter any day of the week. All Henne needs is experience. -
I believe if he produces you might see Ricky traded. -
Then when JJ came in and the turnover started it all went downhill for whatever reason. -

Jalen Parmele
Notice the running styles. Both upright runners, both hit the hole hard, They don't shy away from contact, and they don't have that Rare 2nd level speed like a Leon Washington or All day.
Now the thing that Parmele doesn't have is that Lateral Quickness, Green could change pace without losing speed, and receiving abilitys.
Thats what made Green a 1st round pick and Parmele a 6th.
I should also point out the Vision both backs have. They know where the Cut is and hit it. Something Ronnie shyed away from until last year.Last edited: Jul 29, 2008 -

The kid looks like a winner...
Ricky has competition...
Beck...Henne... either one steps up and I am fine with it...
I am like everyone else...
We need a starting franchise QB and I will be ecstatic if it comes from this group...Last edited: Jul 29, 2008 -
I guess Edgar is using a telescopic micrometer to measure Becks passes.
