I think they finally made the player models a little better. Everyone looked like a fat slob on Madden 08.

I might be the only one who is thinking this, but i think the only way Madden can come back as a premier game is to develop it as a Wii game. Just looking at the Wii fit, it looks like if Madden can some how utilize the Wii fit so people are running, playing first person for example as a running back, i think people will buy it because of the interactiveness. May be they can also add a football helmet or gloves or ball with Wii sensors. I don't know.... I'm just thinking out loud but I think the Wii has the potential to take Madden forward. If it had all that...i'll buy it.

I really dont care if the face is blank with 2 black dots as eyes (IE: the guys on the sideline wearing your number and turning side to side with his hands on his hips in previous games) As long as the body shapes are spot on and....oh....thats right.....THE GAMEPLAY IS UP TO PAR!!!!

are you complaining about the facial expression during a block? seriously? and your complaining already about the gameplay when you haven't seen/heard anything about it yet...

i dont know what i read seems good... and i dont know what people expect out of madden, there is only so much you can do... the expectations people have put on this game is ridiculous...

 

Its because he's on the cover, and he's not going to be unlockable...he's going to be a FA.

I think photo compression makes Long look skinnier than he really is. He's in a weird angle to begin with too it seems.

There's a difference between programming and designing. The programmers just create what the designers and directors tell them to. Blame the people running the development team; they make these decisions.

I also want to smack some of these graphic artists. What reference pictures are they using? Jake Long looks like Adam Sandler.

 

How about the ridiculous glitches? The horrible calls, the bad "gang tackling" Sense when can only 2 guys tackle someone.....how about the same tackles everygame, every time? How about its a roster update every year....and the only thing they add is a ******ed super bowl ring creator.....are YOU serious?!? EA Games buys the rights exclusivley for this once great nfl franchise......they need to put something else out there then the same crap every year with a roster update cause they know they will make profit sense there is NO competition....yeah i am serious...

 

I suppose I am in the minority on these boards (and the majority in real life) when I say that I enjoy MAdden every year. For those of us that do not play online, getting a "roster update" serves a purpose. Also, Everyone always complains that EA doesn't add anything to the game. However over the past couple of years, they have added said ring builder, the combine, QB Field Vision, superstar mode, truck stick (morphed into the playmaker stick) revmaped the defensive audibles keep trying to squeeze more and more animations into the game.

I think some people are just unrealistic in their demands from them. You have to remember that this is a video game and not every single tackle, angle etc. ever done in the NFL is going to make it in.

 

Let me know when they get someone not named Mike Mularkey to write up the plays. Better yet, implement a create-a-play mode.

 

I agree they cant fit everything in.....but if they are the ONLY choice for us football gamers.....it needs to be unbelieveable and amazing.....Just mho

I found Field Vision as more of a useless gimmick really. I just miss ESPN NFL 2k's way of doing things. In fact, I probably log more hours on that than the latest Madden. Crisp and seamless ESPN interface, great commentary and play-by play, great gameplay, add-ons that have substance (1st person mode), etc. Only thing it lacks is next-gen graphics and I don't find it that off from Madden's cartoony look either (though for now, 09's seemed to be improved a bit).

I dont think its unrealistic to think that if this is the only choice for us....they are not putting the work in they would be if there was some hefty competition out there, EA is just riding the wave and tweeking here or there, because they know its gunna be bought.......

For example, if you have a girlfriend, and you have been together a long time....and you start taking her for granted, in the begining you got her flowers randomly, you rubbed her back for her, you wrote her poems yadda yadda....after a year or so, that doesnt happen anymore, you just expect her to be there....well S**t eventually hits the fan, and she leaves you....iam the girlfriend....and Madden football game is the douche bag boyfriend just goin with the flow...

(i know you dont understand the girlfriend comparison griddles, your just a kid, and dont know exactly what a "girlfriend" is....but hey! They still have mail order brides from japan right?) :up::wink2:

Don't get me wrong though guys, I would love to see some improvements as well. For one, I dislike that monotone commentary. It appears that they are changing that this year, which is good. I would also like, on the create-a-player mode, to have some preset last names so when the commentary calls them out, its not just "number 85 caught the ball."

I agree that the play designer feature was well liked and should be brought back. And hopefully tweaked to further use.

 

I still have a PS2, (but I really want to get a 360 but still don't have the $) and I create my own playbook and love it. It's a lot of fun when guys can create their own playbooks and play against each other, shows who knows how to play offense and defense.

 

So don't buy it and quit *****ing about it. Seriously, if you want it to change do so by not supporting the product. And if you already don't buy it, then quit *****ing so much because you're already doing everything you can to make a difference.
