The controller belongs to the game system. Xbox has xbox controllers. You use the controllers for the system. If you're playing Madden on a playstation, you're using a playstation controller.

Now, "Madden pistons" are a completely different story. You can buy game enhancement sticks (kind of like thumb drives but with muffler bearings), known as "pistons", that plug into the underside of various controllers. Those are named by the game. For example, you can get a Madden piston which unlocks a team with Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, etc. that is unbeatable. For some reason the coach of that team Jimmy Super Fly Snuka, don't know why. the other thing that's weird is the team is called the Peoria Peahens.
