Wouldn't that make them a darkhorse then? -
Man, i was going through ESPNs big ten blog, and PSU keeps ranking pretty highly (top 3) in all the categories (o-line, d-line, WRs, RBs). I can't imagine us finishing higher than 3 unless the new QB plays out of his mind, and Sean Lee will be hard to replace.
But I may very well just call PSU my Big Ten darkhorse. :shifty:
Funny thing was Wisconsin's group of RBs was rated higher than Ohio States.adamprez2003 likes this. -

Its ESPN I'm not surprised.

Am I correct in assuming he had USC #1 or #2?
Funny thing is that I really like his football analysis. However, I hate his team rankings, etc. He's so predictable and never right. Not to mention I'll never forgive him for partaking in that steaming pile of **** that ESPN did a few years back comparing the USC team (that still hadn't played in the Nat'l Championship game) to the great Champs of the recent past. Texas winning that game was nearly as good as UF winning. -
-
He works for ESPN it is a requirement. -
If there's a dark horse it's the Texas Longhorns. With Will Muschamp their defense should improve and Colt McCoy should play better now with more experience. The Big 12 is pretty touch with Oklahoma, Texas Tech, & Mizzou all fielding very good squads & if Texas can survive undefeated, I'd look for them to take it all.
And I like Miami's chances in the ACC. IF they get lucky with injuries and the QB situation doesn't implode upon itself, then they can challenge for the ACC crown. -
-
I agree. From reports and scouting news they had a solid recruit class last yr as well as this one but expect alot of freshmen etc. to have to play big minutes. -
If Marve steps up we have a good shot at the ACC championship game. VT is good but not great. Losing Ore and their top returning WR was a blow. Virginia has lost so many players they may need to go to 1-AA for a year.
Throw in a favorable conference schedule with FSU, VT, and UNC all at home. 9-10 wins is not out of the question. Next year we win the ACC and 2010 we should be in the NC hunt. -
-
Miami isnt all THAT bad and with a weak Conference anything is possible. Clemson has a one, or two yr window, after that who knows. -
Tennessee? Yeah, OKAY. Tennessee has as good as a chance as Michigan does to win the National Championship. AKA, not gonna happen and not even gonna come close! There are three, maybe four other teams in the SEC that are better than Tenneseee.
Florida.
Georgia.
LSU.
Auburn maybe. -
-
Wisconsin can't go undefeated this year....they play Marshall. Go ahead and mark them down for an L already.
-
You are correct though they wont go undefeated. -
Dont let sking29 see this.
-
I got a dark horse pick for you.
Hold on you might want to sit down for this.
NC State -
No but really I say Clemson there is your dark horse pick.
-
The smartest thing Mayock ever said. -
-
If the Vols keep their heads on straight they can wind the SEC...but its always a toss up.
In the end its the SEC and whoever is the favorite will probably not get it because any team can get beat any week. The winner of the SEC will probably have 2 losses, IMO. -
Moreno is a better back than McFadden.
