I dunno if he better than Hanie. Can make the argument for Yates. But just looking at him these last two years he has been godawful. No accuracy, one hopping passes (maybe he thinks this is the NBA?), lost his mobility. He really seems to have utterly lost it completely. I agree he should retire, but someone will probably pick him up as a backup for the playoffs - probably the Bears.

And Delhomme actually has as much super bowl experience. :shifty:

Well, if he goes to Chicago, he still sucks. If he goes to Houston, he at least has enough talent around him to succeed.

 

My opinion is that of the three teams listed, Philly makes the most sense. McNabb was the QB there for so long, he knows the offense inside and out, he knows the players. McNabb returning to Philly could amount to instant success for both.

Houston? Eh, maybe, but then that would mean yet another offense for him to have to learn. Chicago? Same situation.

Doubt it would happen though. Andy Reid would have to essentially admit he was wrong in cutting McNabb to begin with.

 

Why would Philly want him? Vick is better. VY probably isn't much worse than McNabb, and I don't think Kafka is much worse either.

We have experimented enough with quarterbacks on the back end of their careers.

 

During his draft I had predicted that McNabb would be a bust based on what I rated as poor accuracy. I always listed that as one of the QB evaluations I got wrong. Looking at the last several seasons, I wonder if McNabb only succeeded b/c he was in the perfect system for him. Regardless, he is clearly done now. Even in the perfect system, I don't think he's more than a back-up. I'm just not sure if he's willing to accept that.

 

You shouldn’t. You were correct. McNabb just had the luck of playing for arguably the best QB coach of this generation.

Also, what does it say about Mike Shanahan, Bruce Allen, Rick Spielman, and Lezlie Frasier that all of them thought McNabb was worth acquiring somehow? Nothing good, IMO.

 

I think everybody, including coaches, (or maybe especially coaches) underestimate the importance of the fit between the QB and the system.

 

TBH, I said last yr that McNabb looked McDone, and Grossman looked like the much better Qb.

Mcnugget stopped working, lost his mobility, and his arm died on him..all at once he fell off of the cliff, which is the first time I've seen a Qb do that, he is 34-35, and he is just cooked.
