He has had his playing time limited as of late. Looks like they have seen enough of him

Think so? I know he has a lot of supporters in the area but I would be pretty surprised if we sign him. Not that I didn't like him when he was here, but I just don't see him fitting in due to the drop issues. But maybe a return home could be his remedy?

He has Rivers throwing to him and is surrounded by Sproles, Tomlinson, Gates and Vincent Jackson and has 122 yards on the year so far. If he is isn't productive in that offense no way he will be in ours.Frumundah Finnatic and gunn34 like this. -
He's all done. I'm all for adding some help at WR, but Chris Chambers is not the answer.
By the way, it will go unnoticed but what a great trade by Candy. One of their only quality personnel decisions aside from drafting Soliai.HardKoreXXX likes this. -
Don't see anything happening.
And I don't think he helps us much. -
you need to put a waiver claim on him
So the bottom 15ish teams below us all have to not claim him and we have to claim him -
Merged 3x; Breaking News: Chargers release Chris Chambers
Schefter just broke it on NFL live. Maybe we could bring him back to drop a few balls.
No link yet, but here's a tweet from Schefter from about 30 min ago.
Chargers released WR Chris Chambers.

Chambers?
I hate doing this, but the Charges just released him. Are we interested? If a Waiver Claim, it would cost us 2.5 Million..... Personally I don't think so, but would he be enough of an improvement to be worth it?dolfan7171 likes this. -
Chambers to be released
Per Shefter on NFL live.
So... What do we think? I'm open for bringing him back. He can run the vanilla comebacks and out routes that is our offense and probably do it better than Bess/Ginn. -
-
He should get a workout, but will have to clear waivers. Still just as good as any of our current options.
-
Not really suprising, he wasn't productive here and he wasn't productive in San Diego. End of story.

I wouldn't be toooo surprised if we at least look at him.
Chambers isn't going to be a long term solution, we already performed that test. Surprised they released him midway through the season though. I always like to see us looking at upgrades, not that I think Chambers would be a big upgrade, but eh, worth a look.Miguel likes this. -
I think we need to get him. I was listening to wqam before the game this year, and he said he wanted to come back and maybe retire a Dolphin. Could be another gem that fell from the sky like Penny did.
-
No way we'll pick him up at 2.4 Mil for the rest of the year.
-
He is Terrible now. Sorry I was a big Chambers fan but he has lost it and is definitely no upgrade to what we have. On the year he has 9 catches for 122yds and a TD. This is on an offense with Rivers, Tomlinson, Sproles, Gates, and Jackson. If he can't be productive in that offense do you really expect him to shine on ours? He just isn't what he used to be.

Chances of him clearing waivers are slim, but I still think we will put in a claim.
-
I say bring him in, and let him take some heat off the others.

Sure, i would take my chance.
But I don't run the team, and personally, i dont think our FO would bring him back. Plus, i doubt he will make it to us thought waiver wire. -
With that said his best years are probably behind him not saying they were that great but even keyshawn Johnson could start in this corp -

Like I said in the other threads, BRING HIM IN!

number 5!!!!!

Is there any rule or way for the NFL to prevent against doing this as a trade this late in the year a la MLB?
You waive the guy, and then only let a certain team pick up the contract, blocking anyone else by taking him back? Then once he's at the team you have a deal with, they send you a pick for nothing, or maybe a crap player that was going to be cut anyway? -
