Watching the sunday pregame show on fox....supposedly Glazer said Joey Porter stood up, infront of the whole team and destroyed Cam infront of everyone, calling him spineless and a coward for kicking keith traylor off the team......and Cam simply said "Good, glad you got that out of your system, now lets prepare for Cincy"....
He totally lost this team, so anyone who wanted Cam to have another chance....you are in the minority....this whole team wanted him gone!!!
Glazer also said something about JT and ZT speaking out against Cam...and there was a mutiny in the locker room.....

Guaranteed there will be a post saying if they didn't like him they could have left. The guy is not meant to be a head coach he is a coordinator and only that.
-
Agreed, he is not a leader of men -
The problem with coaching an 'old' team is that the players aren't going to openly accept what you tell them. Rookies will, they don't know any better. They think their first coach is a genious, or at least thats how they treat him. Guys like JT, ZT, Traylor, and Porter have been coached by Hall of Famers (Cowher, JJ, Belicheck) There not just going to respect a guy like Cam cause they'e supposed to. Cam had to earn it, and he couldn't.

Hidden agenda?
Look, the guy is gone. Why does is it seem some need to prove to others Cam was a mistake. Fine he was bad. Get over it. I supported cam a long after the time I should have had sence to give up on him. If I as a previous supporter of cam who thinks he sould have been retained can get over it and move on. Why do some need to beat a dead horse on the subject. I am as passionate as any finfan. why do we need to hear endless articales about what douch bags we were for supporting cam. I get it you think we are ******s. oK MESSAGE DELIVERED. Can we please move on.PMZQ, Motion, dolphindebby and 3 others like this. -
so Mr H pays them millions, and instead of returning the respect by honoring the coach HE chose, they turn on him.. pieces of crap imo.. I hope bill cans every last one of them that were divisive punks in the locker room.

I think, as is usually the case, you can find faults with all sides in this mess. Could Cam have handled things differently? Sure, I suppose. Could the players have acted differently? Again, I would assume that would be the case. It's apparent to me, regardless of who you "blame," that there were problems in the locker room. For a football guy like Parcells, I'm sure he saw that as well - which is why sweeping changes have been made. I think the important thing to focus on is that we are moving on from this awful season, regardless of who's "fault" it was, and focusing on the future.

What goes around, comes around for Cameron. Look at how he treated Daunte earlier this season. Granted, he wasn't good for us as a QB but he lied about saying there will be an open competition and then strung Daunte around prior to releasing him. As a veteran, would you want to be treated like that? That's one huge reason why the veterans didn't like him, plus a 1-15 season, you know they were jumping for joy when Bill fired him.

GIVE THEM NOTHING......BUT TAKE FROM THEM....EVERYTHING!!!! -
do you have anything constructive to add? -
People talk about what Cam did to C-Pep, and looking back on it, the team turning on him after that (atleast a lot of Vets did not like the move) should have been a hint that this marriage was not gonna work. Remember how Billicheck treated Lawyer Milloy a couple years ago, and then told him to leave only days before the season started? He had players calling for his head, and everybody was sure he would be fired. The team lost 2 games that year.
Part of that is probably Cam's fault, but the blame also rests on the players shoulders (I do remember JT in particular did not support Green) -
Trying to understand his behavior about Cam, one of the responsible crew that hired him, he was tired of failing, and opposite to the general conception, he wants to be a winner. Even there's no way to justify his actions, but he was reacting with impotence about the results.
He's not the kind of leader we need, but with Parcells as boss, he'll have to change his mind. -
I think too many people here are enamored with the concept of the strongman head coach. -
Cutting/Trading him is not an option after the contract Mueller gave him. It is not financially worth getting rid of him. Hopefully with no non-sense people like Parcells and Sparano running the show, they can keep Porter's off the field crap to a minimum. He is still a good player. -
Yeah he was good for us this year, his stats were very pleasant......be good to see him in our defense next year....his off the field stuff wasnt really anything big during the season....the before season stuff with levi jones got cut off quickly once the season started. Besides i like having a firey guy on our defense for every play, regardless of record -

IMO it takes a real man to be able to control his temper and not act like a jerk. It would have been much easier to act like a child and throw tantrums, but he kept his cool through a lot of junk, and for that, I admire him.sgtphin and phinphever like this.
