Called "Backbreaker".....has an engine, no 2 tackles are the same in the game....looks amazing. Coming out in 2008. not NFL, Sense EA has the licensing, but should be good!!!
check out the video on the page....tackles look intense!!!!!!
I read more about it on ign and the crowds will be amazing and the most real ever....
"when you score a touch down, the crowd will cheer....when you score and take the lead with 10 seconds left...the crowd will go balistic...." Sounds awesome!!!

Yeh I heard about this one. The whole game is based around the intensity of the tackling.

Not a buy but definitely a rent.
can't really say that yet unless you won't buy games that don't have nfl names. I will wait and see I bought all pro football 2k8 I play that more often then madden imo its the better game.

Unfortunately consesus doesn't agree with you. They're not even sure if they are going to make another one. For me the game play was just to lackluster, compared to games they made from the past. And not having the NFL license hurts the gameplay in the fact that you get bored of playing with the same people over and over.

I'm with ya Bruzer. APF is a great game, just a shame they didn't have the licensing.
Yeah I posted some videos of this game on FH before it went down. Looks and sounds pretty good. Interested to see the final product.

I agree there but if 2K did have ability to do NFL I am sure it would now be the top football game. EA is becoming everything I hate about game companies they try nothing new they try no new leaps but why should they when a mass of people continue to buy their game when the game has nothing but basically one new feature and its ruining madden and the football games are getting old. I never buy madden my brother does and I am glad I don't or ever will because I don't feel like paying 60$ for a roster update and a tacky new gimmick feature.
I am just hoping Bioware doesn't become part of the EA trend now that they are owned by them.
Most people won't agree with me and that madden is going to always be best but we will see if the license that gets lifted and 2k gets a chance. So far imo 2k is better in every sport game other than maybe nfl but thats because they can't.

The grapics seem average to below average and although they have an amazing create a team feature I like playing games with current and real NFL players and teams.

I guess its a matter taste. I personally could care less about graphics as long as gameplay is good. I mean graphics cant look 10 years old on a next gen system but I can settle for average if gameplay is good.
Gameplay is 10X more important to me as well then graphics. You have all these new gen games that look incredible but play like crap. I'll take a subpar graphic engine with stellar game play any day.

I can deal with average graphics if the gameplay is good but the graphics for this game don't look average they are closer to below average, but when I rent it and the gameplay is good enough then I will buy it. Whether or not they have franchise will play a big part as well.

Well atleast thats good. Thats just a tech video I can bet you that the actual graphics do not look like that.

***update***
Hey, remember Backbreaker? You know, that other football game that was announced forever ago -- the one that runs on the Euphoria engine, the one we’ve seen neither hide nor hair of in more than a year? Well, contrary to popular opinion, it isn’t vaporware. The game most definitely exists -- in fact, I spent about 45 minutes checking it out during E3, and boy, do I have a lot to tell you about it.
Hit the jump, where you’ll find the first official gameplay trailer for Backbreaker -- along with my words about the game that you can read with your eyes and comprehend with your brains. There are also six new screenshots in the gallery below!
But why would a British developer decide to make an American football game? Donald noted that “football is a perfect playground for Euphoria,” since the collision-based sport is a physics geek’s dream. In the game, movement comprises simple motion-captured animation -- technology that’s been in use for over a decade. However, “as soon as there’s any degree of contact, Euphoria takes over.” In other words, no collisions are canned; they’re all procedurally generated by Euphoria. So at any given moment, Euphoria is doing physics calculations for up to 22 players’ muscles, nerves, and bones.
In all other games, collisions are determined by so-called rolls of the dice -- when players come together, the game takes their ratings into account and figures out what will happen. But in Backbreaker, collisions are “real” -- the players’ arms and bodies, as well as the ball, are all objects with real physical properties, and the game calculates an outcome of a collision based on factors like the speed and angle at which the players crashed into each other, as well as their bodies (height, weight, etc.). There’s no such thing as a “fumble animation” in this game; if, for example, the ball carrier is switching his ball hand as he gets hit, the chances of a fumble will be much higher than normal.

they are still busting ass to get this game out.....over 50 teams! local split screen multiplayer, online multiplayer and franchise mode.....all logos and teams completley customizable......the blocking seems disapointing thus far, they said they are working on it.....but if the price is right....its a definte buy for a football game fan.....something different than madden....and some badass hits......
completley different gameplay than madden, so it shouldnt be compared to it.....they arent trying to compete (they cant) but it should be fun....

I'm still excited for this game. I was on their blog a couple weeks ago and they were taking long time members and using their names for the players in the game.

Holland is a huge upgrade over McCain
I want to be alive, I am alive! Alive, I tell you! Mother, I love you, those are no longer just words. I want to hold you, I want to run in a stream, I want to taste ice cream but not just put it in my mouth and let it slide down my throat but really eat it. - Robot Morty
If madden used these physics, it'd be a truly authentic game.
Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.
i cant ****ing wait till this!!!!!
