Norv Turner is also out in SD

I can see Reid going to SD. He is a So Cal guy and he would have a few years of Rivers left to play with.

Coaches and GM's getting fired
So far the list is:
Chargers
HC Norv Turner
GM AJ Smith
Browns
HC Pat Shurmer
GM Tom Heckert
Chiefs
HC Romeo Crennel
Eagles
HC Andy Reid
My source is the ticker screen on ESPN. All these people have been fired. I wonder who is next.
And to all the people that wanted Ireland to get fired, do you really wanna have a few teams competing to hire a GM?
This is all the more reason to put that talk to bed and realize its best to unite and hope for the best this off season with Ireland as our GM. -
Jets fire GM Mike Tannenbaum

@MikeMcCartney7 One thing is certain today: the QB position is getting some good people fired

Part of me wants Ireland to stay because I think continuity is important (and I don't think we've had it even with him, since philosophies changed last season), but part of me wants to risk swinging for the fences with someone else (because while I don't think he's bad, I don't think he's irreplaceable either).

Black Monday
Here we are its black Monday many coaches and GM's have lost their jobs. I am wondering if we can have a poll should Ireland be fired TODAY?! After Miami's performance in New England ( I was at the game in full Dolphin attire) of 28-0 showing Miami lacks are really fire power and talent I would vote yes and lets liberate ourselves from the Ireland curse. Is it possible to do a poll ? -

Wow....maybe we can get Sparano back as an offensive line coach. I know he was so loved around here by many.
-
if Rose is stupid and keeps Ireland then next will we will see Ireland screw up another draft and beleive he , he probally will .
I have no confidence in Ireland at all.
5 gms that had losing seasons were fired today or it may have been three of them but still Miami isnt smart enough to do the right thinng nd fire the bastard .oakelmpine likes this. -

Let it go.
Teflon Jeff isn't going anywhere.
We may as well embrace him and hope he kicks *** this offseason.Bpk, oakelmpine, Pandarilla and 1 other person like this. -
Poll or not there's basically zero chance of him being fired but there's no rule that says fans have to have a clue. But it's kinda funny that people who can't grasp the basics of running a team love to give their opinion on how the team should be run. -

You can blame Ireland if after this draft we have another less than par season. It's time to see if he can or can't make a team this season. If we sit this time next year with anything less than 9-10 wins he will and should be looking for a new job. For now we just have to deal with it.

I can't say that I have authority or a clue, though I am significantly less clueless than the people who have made firing Ireland the main topic of discussion for the past 5 months. We might as well have been talking about which QB we should take in the first round this year to replace Tannehill. -
The thing about all these ousted head coaches is, it provides an opportunity to add pieces to your coaching staff that you didn't have before. I don't think we should just assume that all of our coaching assistants are the most qualified people for the job. When a head coach gets ousted a lot of his staff are given permission to flee for better jobs. Miami would do well to take note of that.

Chan Gailey fired per PFT

I find it interesting that someone says we have no clue as fans as to how an NFL team is or should be run. I guess consecutive losing seasons and an obvious lack of talent is an apparition and should be ignored. I have a clue that if Jeff Ireland messes up this draft and doesn't get at least part of the talent this team is void in then some of the Ireland apologists will be jumping ship. A 28-0 loss to a division rival on the last game of the season is a clue to me that we are not even close to where we want to be. I don't think the question is whether we as fans have a clue, I think the more appropriate question is, "Does Jeff Ireland have a clue?

Rex Ryan shouldn't be fired, IMO. I don't think he will be but if he was that wouldn't be good for the Jets. I think he's a good coach. He needs help. -
I'm a little surprised about Lovie Smith out in Chicago even though them losing yesterday made it possible. I mean he's been there so damn long. Brandon "Nursing Home Kitty" Marshall strikes again. But that team is a mess. Cutler is such a douche. Urlacher needs to retire. They are a long ways away.
For the Bills... they will never learn... which is good for us. If their GM lasts, it's also great for us. The man that overpaid for Fitzpatrick and spent the farm on Mario Overrated Williams.
Jets are keeping Rex Ryan. lol... -
