No one is suggesting we need to operate like the team of old, change the offense & defense, etc. If we win a Super Bowl wearing a traditional uniform the credit won't go to the teams of the 70's. According to your logic we should change the uniform/logo routinely so that as the team is altered it will remain separately identifiable, kinda like a uniform within a uniform. Philbin, Tannehill, & Co don't need a changed, modernized uniform to create their own history. They'll do that on the field. A traditional uniform is a way of preserving history while current players are busy creating their own, and if they succeed, it all melds together just as a history-rich team should.
