"This is my worst season playing football. Period, from a little guy to now," Ginn, 24, said Thursday. "I'm not looking at it like that, but it has been rough."
The dropped passes that plagued him earlier this season have made him a target — not necessarily on the field, but out in public.
"Every time you see somebody, 'You got to catch the ball,' " Ginn said they tell him. "I still get it to this day, from little kids to grown people."

Reading the article actually kinda makes you feel bad for the guy, even his father has been coming down on him.

Thats pretty brutal. Now you know why he was a cornerback in Highschool. A highly ranked corner I might add.

Aww geez Teddy...in 3...2..

Still have to think that if any of the current receivers are gone after this season, Ginn has to be at the top of the list.

Its good to see he admidts his problems instead of diverting blame, so the best thing Ted can do is find a mentor (LIKE CHRIS CARTER) work out with him and I bet alot of these issue get resolved. Carter took Randy Moss under his wings and tought him how to play WR. Hopefully they can touch base and Ginn dedicated this offseason to improving.
If not he will be gone after next year. -
Torry Holt based on size and skill would have been ideal but they got cheap and didn't offer him a contract. Even a Torry Holt could have made our offense that much better.

From the Chargers game to the game before the Bucs he was pretty terrible. I hope he can turn it around, as the past 5 games have been promising. I'd like to see him back next year at least through camp, and see if he can keep up with what he's been doing (if not improve). I'd love to have him be able to finish his career in Miami, and have that day be like 10 years from now.

Good thing he's banked that +/- $17M so far. That'll take the sting out of sucking.

Ginn has done nothing for folks to not be negative, but its nice to see someone only take his hate so far. (SEE ABOVE POST) -
Maybe they put his locker in the basement of Lands..err.. "Sunlife" George Costanza like?
"I'm still here! I'm still here!"

I do believe he should take his craft more seriously though, and I'm not certain he will here in 2010, but man, all that talent, he should take up MMA or something to toughen himself up.Fin-Omenal likes this. -
Put it this way, when was the last early 2000's style "salary cap purge"?
Hasn't happened in almost a decade Nabo, imho the NFL no longer really cares about the Cap, that is why they just allowed accounting tricks to push salaries forwards and new, more expensive players to be signed.
Has Snyder in DC EVER run into a Cap Issue?
Nope, but because he is willing to spend the money the other owners could care less.Stringer Bell likes this. -

Its all in his head. I wish he was the second coming of Steve Smith.
Panthers Steve Smith
But the New York Giant Steve Smith wouldn't be all that bad. -
I'd be happy with NYG SS.

At this point a change of scenery might do him a lot of good. Too bad he probably wouldn't get much at all in return for trading him. He's worth keeping if all anyone is going to offer are 2nd day draft picks. He's only 24, his problems seem to be more mental than any genuine lack of talent or skill. I'd like to think we can coach him out of his issues but at this point that remains to be seen. I'd hate to see him cut or dumped for nothing much at all and going to probowls some where else.
-
I don't think he's scared to play football. I don't know where people get this from. He's taken plenty of hits, and bounced right back up after each of them.
Like everyone says, it's all in his head. If he irons out his mental problems, he will be good. Problem is, I doubt he does.Fin-Omenal, jdang307, Stitches and 1 other person like this. -
If someone trains their body in the offseason like a mad man, takes their craft serious, then i just dont get the concept of having a bad year...
Its either you got serious issues mentally, or, you didnt do everything your craft demanded during the offseason like we thought....
Looks to me like the player is scared to death on the football field, it seems like his vision of the field cannot clear, because he's to worried about where, when, and how hard the contact is gonna be,
The titan game was brutal for me to watch......he's gotta lot to prove to earn my respect back... seein that its christmas and all, i guess iam willing to give his butt another offseason to rid himself of the demons, and to hit the weight room.PhinsFanWife, eric and NaboCane like this. -

I mean since he escaped no mans land against the Jets, his kickoff average I believe is below 20 yards {thats just brutal man}......he fumbles the punt when they finally decide to put him back there, then he flashes some ridiculously talented play {revis 6}.... i just cant take the ugly inconsistencies anymore Luck..
I do understand bad games by winners like you said, but seasons?, from a 24 year old player going into the 3rd year?...
I hope he comes out of this in the offseason..... but imo, its all about his body, if it does'nt mature and develope, his game isnt likely to change much...He's perfect prey for the Bullies in the NFL...and they like to take their punches at the LOSt, where he does'nt have the body or strength to fight them off. -
he needs a role model, who will inevitably take his snaps. if we dont get a good free agent receiver in the off season... ted ginn jr is going to be looking up to brian hartline next season.NaboCane likes this. -

gotta say that is one of the most honest and revealing interviews Ive ever read. Its interesting that he doesnt address the cause of his funk earlier this year. It's like it doesnt matter but what matters is getting past it. Very mature response IMO. He addresses that he could improve his KRs but doesnt dwell on it which is also a good sign. I found it rather interesting that he absolved the fans of their behavior. In every instance he accepts the present reality and reiterates that his sole job is to focus on the job at hand and improving every week and every season regardless of outside distractions. That is the perfect frame of mind to have to get out of a bad spell. The ability to focus on the job at hand and block out background noise is crucial for achieving peak performance

I'm convinced he can play CB. I would love to see him try. Why did they switch his position to WR again? He's 24 years old. He could be raw but I think he can do it. He has the physical tools and with maybe 10 pounds he'd be able to do it.
