Hey it looks like Will Davis could be traded before the 53 man cut deadline. What could we get from him?

Not much. The article says low round pick. I think we would be lucky to get that.

Shocked if anyone bites the bait... But in his defense, it's not as if Coyle has actually ever developed any secondary player ever.

Is this sarcasm? -

Unless you think a premium draft pick turning into a decent player is developing....

The only way we get anything for Will Davis is if he is packaged with another player. Rishard Matthews and Will Davis may actually bring some value and allow us to hold on to Lippett and Matt Hazel, which, IMO, would be a very very good thing. Hazel and Lippett will not last a day on the open market, and both of them are potential starters as soon as next year, but definitely in 2017.
I have always liked Matthews and thought he was under-used but the fact is, we just don't need him. He plays Devante Parkers and Greg Jennings type roles.
With Martavis Bryant suspended and the Steelers having the worst CB corps in the league, they might be buyers. -
Agreed Roc, but I'm still right. Reshad was established as a good safety before this staff arrived, and Grimes was also a top rated CB in ATL. Cincy always paid the 'has been' guys like Pacman, Roy Williams, Gibril Wilson... There's a crazy list of guys like that.....And Coyle revived them. But I've never seen a young DB develop aside from the 1st round picks they constantly spent on CBs.
If Taylor breaks through like he's supposed to......and maybe 1 of either McCain2 or Lippett pans out, I'll have to shut up about this. -

Yes, but how do you feel about Jeff Ireland's tenure?

if this goes through, this will be a player swap, imo

If we got a 6 or 7 I'd call it a win. I didn't have will davis as draft able a few years ago and he's done little to change that feeling. He's never met a tackle he wanted to make and his ball skills are average. His instincts are poor...let's just cut to the chase There's little I like about his game. Can't get a 3rd round pick back...get what you can and move on. It's a sunk cost at this point.
-
eh, I'd still like to give him a chance. He's young and cheap. At this point, I don't think we can have enough DBs and what are we going to trade him for? Another backup, possible STer? I would really hate to see us not give a guy a shot, who dealt with some injuries early in his career, then him go to another contender and become a solid starter for them.

He and his tackling (lack of) prowess need to go, just like the last two non-tackling CBs they dumped.
-
Well, his two picks last night should help his stock somewhat.
-
Kind of makes me wonder if this was "leaked" just to light a fire under his *** to get him going. If so, it at least seems to have worked, albeit, preseason.

.....Why does'nt Ross hire LBerFinest to run the organization, and then the Super Bowl runs/wins begin.

Hell, even Rick Spielman got another GM job.
NFL owners/executives are just as stupid as us fans I guess.
