Why the flip is the billionaire owner of a professional sports franchise fouling his mouth by speaking words in public about an ignorant person? He should not be commenting on Miko Grimes at all. Her behavior should have no impact on the Miami Dolphins in any way. Not at the ownership level. Cutting a pro bowl player because his sperm bank has a potty mouth is bad business. Advertising it is unprofessional. The only thing Burnt Grimes should be judged on is how many times I had to watch Calvin Johnson sit on his face. Or how often he managed to fall down when he was being used by an opposing WR. Miko doesn't matter. Not to Steven Ross she shouldn't.

 

If we had the 2014 version of Brent Grimes last year, he wouldn't have been cut regardless of what Miko said or did.

 

Here I was thinking this was beneath Ross. Some things are better left unsaid.

Absolutely nothing to gain from spouting off about former employees' wives.

The Martin/race and now Philbin comments as well for that matter.

Ross is too candid for his own good.

This is one instance where I envy other teams who's coaches and owners who say "Nothing to say about that, we're moving on as an organization." But no, our owner has a worse mouth than the mouth of the south in Jerry Jones. Its embarrassing.

Come on... we all knew that this was a big reason why Grimes was cut. It's not like Ross is giving out state secrets here...

 

But, but, Ross himself said the Miami Dolphins are a "first class organization".

 

While true, there is no need for him to comment and state the obvious. Be a classy organization for once, like we used to be, and simply not comment. Keep our drama in house, deal with it and move on. Eventually the story goes away. But Ross has to comment and it keeps the drama going. We dont need any more distractions, we need to move forward, and Ross needs to stop helping this team look like a Browns-esq clown show.

If you're worried about a players wife speaking her mind and exercising her 1st amendment rights as an American, what does that say about how strong you think your organization is?

He makes Jerry look sage, quite the accomplishment, Ross is an embarrassment of an owner.

Keep our drama in house?? It was already all over the freakin internet because of Miko... The whole football watching world already knew what was going on. Ross didn't help this team look like the Browns or a clown show, that was all Grimes and his trashy wife.

If anything, Ross is out there comfirming, yes... she's the main reason we cut him, because we don't want those types of distractions in the organization. He's only confirming thing's he's said in the past about not wanting stuff like that around the team.

This is a complete non-issue. If it was a complete surprise we cut Grimes, and nobody understood why, then Ross comes out saying this, then yes, I get it... but the damage was already done here by the Grimes'. Not Stephen Ross.

 

Yep. I get that he has made some mistakes but the man tries as much as possible to turn this franchise into a winner. I rather have that as a owner of my favorite team instead of an owner who doesn't care or who's too cheap.

 

The whole world knows she's the reason he was cut. No need for Ross to state the obvious and fan the flames. He should've said "Brent Grimes is no longer a member of the Miami Dolphins and we have moved on as an organization." End of story.

We're actually mad at someone for diplomatically telling the truth instead of diplomatically lying or diplomatically avoiding the issue. As a group of people, our priorities have gotten insane.

 

Because it adds to the distractions that we really don't need on this team especially since we've already taken care of the problem. I really wish we didn't have an owner who ran his mouth like Ross does. Every year we're a "Super Bowl contender". Or when he bad mouthed Sparano, Ireland and now Philbin after their exits. These comments from our owner, who doesn't understand good and bad PR, damage our team's image around the league. Ross is almost as classless as Miko IMO.

The only press coverage this team seems to get is negative coverage and alot of it is self inflicted when you have a buffoon of an owner. I can't blame the Northeast centric media anymore when our team continues to do everything the wrong way.

I don't think Ross is that much of a problem. I think that people who have disliked Ross from the start just keep jumping on anything and everything the man does, and try to make him look like a monster.

If he says anything, I agree this is what he should say, but my preference would be he say "all football personnel decisions are made by people I trust, so any questions in that area are better put to them", like any respectable absentee owner, Like Wayne used to do.

 

Grimes got Grimes cut... getting rid of Miko was just the crapping on the cake.

 

He comes off better by simply not addressing it. It was a baited question, and he took the bait.

 

Gase and Tannenbaum better hope Grimes doesn't play at a probowl level or god help them. They will be the NFL laughing stock of the century.

 

Why would anyone fault them for getting rid of a guy who was not good last season AND his wife was a constant source of gossip and bad publicity for the team, even IF he played at a Pro Bowl level?

 

Because some fans just love the negativity.. Not only love it, they revel in it , eagerly hoping bad things happen. Grimes decline in play and with that contract ....and a wife who is an utter embarrassment and an unneeded distraction in that locker room. Really a no brainer to cut ties... Better hope Grimes does not go to the pro bowl or we are gonna look stupid ?? Who really thinks that? It was time to move on .. Both sides seem happier for it.

Agreed with everything you said. I feel sometimes they will feel better if the dolphins keep on being subpar or even start stinking because they can keep on crowing about how they're right on how everyone and everything sucks with this team.

 

So wait, basically everyone in the world, especially the US cries the world has become too PC, now here we are begging for a PC answer. Ridiculous.

There's stuff to criticize Ross for, this... this just isn't it.

This really isn't the big deal some of you want to make it out to be for the sake of hating Stephen Ross. Again, he's done plenty of dumb things ib good time here. This is far from an issue compared to some of them. Quite frankly, there's nothing wrong with it.
