If we lose to the Jets…

It’s already panic mode in Miami, but if we lose to the Jets and start the season 0-4, we are TRULY screwed. Ross won’t fire Grier, God only knows what Grier knows and holds over Ross. Grier will fire McDaniel, promote Weaver as interim HC. We’ll get an artificial bump in wins, like what happened with Dan Campbell but at the end of the season, we’ll be right back on the next head coaching carousel…with the provision of course, whoever is hired will HAVE to have Tua as the Dolphins QB just due to what he’ll be due in salary and the inability to eat that cap hit.

Yep, if the Dolphins lose to the Jets, the 2025 Dolphins season is going to be a Greek tragedy.

 

I think we're going to get that bump in wins no matter what happens, hurting our chances at a clean slate rebuild.

 

Until Ross fires Grier, we will never have a clean slate rebuild.

 

Sorry guys, but the Dolphins will be 6-5 at the bye right in the thick of the playoff race.

I agree, we've started fast the past few years and that's not happening now. We got whooped week one by a team that's 3-0 and whooping everyone...it still stinks but at least we know they're a good team. Weeks 2 and 3, we were driving for the go-ahead score late in the 4th and blew it. It sucks and it's frustrating, but we lost two 1-score games to division rivals. It's clearly not the end of the world.

Tua has played poorly so far...or at least not on the level we saw the past few years. Part of that is other teams adjusting, and part of that is a new season. Our paper-thin defensive secondary is also in shambles and can only get better going forward. We're starting kids out there and it shows.

We could realistically win the next five, or 4 out of 5. The Chargers are the only semi-scary team in that mix and we've beat them year after year.

After that, we have the Ravens and Bills at home...that should be an 0-2 stretch...but if we're a 4-4 team at that point, maybe we shock the world one time. Maybe even twice since we did just lose in Buffalo by 7. After that, the schedule gets fairly soft once again.

My prediction is around a 9-8 record, which would put us in the mix for the playoffs.

This offense can get A LOT BETTER in the weeks ahead, and the defense will be A LOT BETTER since they're currently among the worst in the league. Take a breath friends, there's a long season still to play. This absolutely isn't a Super Bowl team but it could be a playoff team that finally gets that coveted Wild Card W.

While Tua and the offense in general has played poorly so far this season, it’s the defense that causes me even more concern. I just posted a thread on the defense from a DouglieDoWrong video and it shows how horrible they’ve been.

Until the defense can get off of the field and give the offense more opportunities, it’s going to be a long season. Their lack of play is FORCING the offense to have to play at absolute perfection on every possession and we all know that’s not realistic, not for any team.

The Dolphins have so many issues this season, it’s a Greek tragedy.

 

I completely agree, I have no idea how we entered this season thinking we could compete at cornerback and safety. I only said "they have to get better" because it would be difficult for them to play any worse. Hopefully the younger guys begin to adjust as we get into the season and we become an average or below average secondary. They're a lot worse than that now.

 

I do like them. At least they look a bit tougher now.

Tua missed Waller on the batted pass, he was wide open. But bigtime throw there for the TD and what an effort by Waller to get both feet down.

That was a great drive, 96 yards and a touchdown. It’s about time Miami’s offense got back to the “The Greatest Show on Surf”
