I know this is not what you asked in the thread, but if you look at a turning point, for me, it was the Browns game...No, it wasn't the best offensive game or the best defensive game, but together, it was the best this team played for an entire game...no other game gave me the confidence that this one did that we were a better team...jmho, but that's what I saw...

 

Walk off safety

 

Charles clay against the chargers. Charles clay against the steelers. Charles clay against the patriots.
Favorite play? Not sure, but it involves Charles clay, I promise

 

Come on, that's easy... its' Michael Thomas picking off Brady in the endzone to seal the win.

 

Ravens game... when Tannehill rolled out to escape the pressure and extend the play and connected with Gibson on a 46 yard completion on 4th and 10, to extend our final drive.

Gibson, to his credit, realized the play was broken and cut off his route to help his QB out.

Why? Great escape/roll out, great pass, amazing catch. It was just an amazing play all around and one in which Tannehill demonstrated his athleticism and arm. Too bad the OLine cost us the game.

 

that's a tough one between the safety vs Bengals and pickoff vs Brady.

 

Offense - Clay's 4th and 5.

Defense - Michael Thomas back-to-back Brady-killing plays.

Special Teams - Getting off the field.

Edit: I can't be that mean. Special Teams - play made against the Pats where our guy leveled their dude...can't remember who it was but it was a killer hit.

So close, yet so far. Sums up our season pretty well.

 

Off-topic, but I remember a couple of people calling that a poor throw when it happened as if the ball should have been thrown through Ninkovich's body or something. A touch pass definitely wasn't an option.

 

ST play has to be the Don Jones WWE forced fumble.

 

Terrific play. And a microcosm of the season. 4th and 10 and we are using a 7 man protection to block what is obviously going to be a 4 man pass rush by the Ravens. Might as well hold up a sign that says "our OL sucks".

Tannehill makes a great play, Gibson falls down instead of turning up field to get more yards or possibly score. Bad clock management and more suckage from the OL stalls the drive outside of realistic FG range. Baltimore, Buffalo, Tampa, NE, all games where we ha a lead late but couldn't run the clock out or protect the QB on the final drive(s).

 

Indeed. Fantastic play.

Gibson was my favorite receiver last season. Our offense fell off when he was lost mid-season. We went from averaging just over 23 ppg to right around 19 ppg after losing him.

He also provided one of the sole high-lights of the first Bills game with his all whirly-whirl plunge into the EZ for a TD - through 4 Bills defenders. Loved his effort while we had him.

 

Yeah, have to love that kind of effort and will to win.

 

Most plays involving Clay just plain being hard to tackle and/or extending a drive and/or driving a pile into the endzone.

 

To answer the thread specifically, the td against the steelers where palomalu had clay dead to rights but clay kept at it, spun away and escaped for the game winning td.

I was there. Steelers fans were stunned. The stadium was pissed and a lot of fans left for the parking lot after that play. It was awesome.

 

The illegal batting of the ball penalty against Vernon in the first game against the Patriots.

 

been saying this over and over, Tannehill is a freak going to his left, not many qbs can get themselves into a position like that to throw, the dexterity he has on the run, especially to his opposite side is freaky and good..you can't draw the mechanics up any better for that type of throw, see the way he uses his off hand as balance, shoulders are completely square to his target, check how his feet are practical off the ground, it's perfect actually.

These are the most memorable good ones to me. There are some equally memorable bad plays.

 

The one that sums is it up is the sack fumble to end the first bills game, boooooo!

 

4th and 10 we gave up against Carolina that would have sealed it.
Clay's TD against Pittsburgh was big.
Again, Clay and the 4th and 5 (like the OP mentioned)
Michael Thomas with his 2 great plays at the end of that same game.

 

1) The Slam Heard Round The Cafeteria
2) INT to beat Pats by dude who was with us for like 48 hrs
3) Tannehill's 4th down rollout and completion to Gibson
4) Wake's Safety to beat Bengals
5) Clabo vs Mario Williams turnover (traumatic recall memory)


Least Memorable
1) Playing time for rookie class. I can't remember there being any.

Wakes safety was awesome. Loved it!
Clay's TD against Pittsburg had me howling and the front page from the paper up there (Clay strutting into the endzone with Polamalu on his knees helpless in the background) is the screensaver on my phone.

Thomas INT against the Pats for the win. I was jumping up and down, yelling like a fool. It was just such an intense game and a win I know we all wanted soooo bad.

 

Love all the big plays by Clay. Love Wake's safety. But i have to say my favorite one is week3 vs Falcons. The last drive. Tanny did great job at the 4th quarter come back drive and one hand catch game winning TD by Dion Sims was the cherry on top.

 

If Wallace didn't stop he would have ran under it for an easy score. However long passes are tough to complete.

That 4th and 10 to the obvious player is the play that ruined that game for me.
