You all may remember me talking about my wife being in a car accident back in April (she was ok thank god). Well we just got our settlement check from the lawyers today, and let me just say, it's enough to get us home to Florida.
South Florida is still too expensive. We are going to be moving to Orlando. We have narrowed our search (depending on jobs) to Dr Phillips, Hunters Creek, Clermont, and Winter Garden/Windermere areas.
I have been researching/studying the **** out of these areas, and they are what we are most comfortable with. Well I know there are a lot of dolfans in the surrounding Orlando area, considering I will be moving from 3 states away in a couple of months, I could use the most advice/help/tips I can get.
So please if you know a doctor hiring a medical asst, please let me know. My wife has experience in Family practice and Dermatology/Plastic surgery.
And if you know anyone renting a home/condo/townhouse in a nice area, for a good price, please PLEASE PLEASE let me know. Ill buy you a beer when I get there

Awesome man! Good for you. I know you've been thinking bout it for a while, going back to your ORIGINAL radio shows. Orlando is definitely a good place to live, too. Your wife propably would of had an easier time finding a job in the plastic surgery down here for obvious reasons, but Orlando is close enough to get it's share of Snow Birds mixed in with the college kids. I have couple of friends who live in Orlando, ill text them see if they know anything bout job openings and/or housing.

Glad to hear you get to come back dude. Though if you moved to the Ft. Myers area the Dolphins are considered the home team and you wouldn't need Sunday ticket. Because, you know, you have to base life decisions accordingly.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but we want to be close enough to the theme parks so it's not a long drive to utilize our season passes. Also, I will have unlimited access to Disney's oak trail 9 hole walking course, so I don't want to live too far, if I did that would give the wife ammunition when complaining about me golfing all the time.........can't have that!!!
-
Sounds like I need to teach you the local secrets to enjoying a Disney season pass.
How are you gonna get access to Oak trail, and what about the other courses? I might have to take up golf again if you can get me the cast member rate ($25 afternoon). I used to play alot out there -

I know I'm late on this, just wanted to say it'll be cool to have another Phin fan over here.
Out of your choices, I'd also say Hunter's Creek would be your best bet. It's pretty close to the parks, in fact all you have to do is go down Osceola Parkway (which is a nice drive btw) and you'll be there in about 15 minutes.
Clermont is also very quiet and nice, only problem is it's a bit out of the way. It's about 30 miles away from Disney...but still it's an easy drive.

As long as one of us is close, it will save gas, and help us big time, because our insurance will bump up in price in Florida. However, we wont be getting state taxes taken out of our pay checks, so we may end up saving money. We shall see. -
Also, for Orlando residents, what is the electricity provder in Orlando? Is it FPL? Or are there multiple ones to choose from?
