This is how I'm projecting our current players for the 3-4. Anyone think I have some of these players playing the wrong position?
91 Holliday, Vonnie DE
94 Starks, Randy DE
90 Wright, Rodrique DE
75 Robinson, Derreck DE
95 Ferguson, Jason NT
96 Soliai, Paul NT / DE
60 Fifita, Steve NT
99 Taylor, Jason OLB
55 Porter, Joey OLB
74 Moses, Quentin OLB
53 Wright, Abraham OLB
98 Roth, Matt OLB / DE 4-3 alignment
56 Anderson, Charlie OLB
93 Ninkovich, Rob OLB
43 Glymph, Junior OLB
51 Washington, Mark OLB
57 Church, Marcello OLB
59 Torbor, Reggie ILB

I'm not sure how Roth is going to fit in. The guy disappeared starting in the 4-3. I don't know how well he would play DE in the 3-4. Also question marks if he can even play OLB.

I was debating Matt Roth but I dont think he's agile enough to move to OLB. I think he's gotta bulk up to 285 or 290 somehow.

Abraham Wright is an OLB. He's a former undersized college DE; he's not an inside linebacker.

I think the plan with Starks is to switch him back and forth between DE and NT til he gets a little more experience, then start him in the NT position full-time next year. I think R. Wright plays the same position(s) VH does, DE and UT-in the "Hybrid".

Alright I'm moving Rodrique wright to DE and Abraham Wright to OLB

Here is how I see it (swapping Chris Long for Jason Taylor but not including any other draft selections):
Starks/Wright/Roth
Ferguson/Starks/Soliai/Fifita
Holliday/Wright
Long/Ninkovich/Wright
Torbor/Smith
Crowder
Porter/Moses -
That roster's not going to scare anyone. There's almost no starters on that defensive front seven list...For sure the Dolphins are drafting defense heavy in this draft. They almost have to. Look for them also to add players during the 1st cuts, by necessity

Ed Miles is certainly an ILB in a 3-4.

Our ILB's make me sad :(
We're the Miami Freaking Dolphins for goodness sake! -

I think you have it about right if you make the changes discuess. Rod Wright is definitely a DE in this alignment and Ed Miles should be swapped for Abe Wright.
Also, keep the possibility in mind that Paul Soliai takes snaps at DE.
Another thing, people are wondering where Matt Roth fits into this scheme. If it were me, I would make him a 4-3 DE specialist, like Jarvis Green with the Patriots. You're going to be using 4-DL alignments on a regular basis even if you're running the base 3-4. Matt Roth comes into play on those occasions, able to come in and rush the passer as a DE or even as a DT.adamprez2003 likes this. -

You get almost no value doing so. It'll be a sixth round pick and that's pointless. Roth is a better player than that. I'd even consider having him bulk up again to play pass rush 3-4 DE.

Okay, one thing that no one has asked about. You have Soliai listed as NT/DE. My question is, is it really feasible that Soliai would spend any time at all at DE? The last I read he was like 344# and kind of slow.

You are correct, we are weak on ILB after losing Zach.
Good list overall though. -
Some Parcells/Sparano toughness will do him some good. None of that nancy stuff Cam was running last year.
