I was late for a meeting, and i heard the DJ on the radio say that this is a sneak peak from the new guns and roses album..
I sat there in my car in amazement, truly groundbreaking stuff. absolutely modern and beautiful...yes beautiful.. The layers and contrast of instruments in the song were amamzing, the chords were in minor..i could'nt get out of my car..
I've been trying to find it somewhere on the internet but i cant, was wondering if anyone else knew something about getting so more sneak peaks at the album.

Chinese Democracy (Guns n' Roses) - MP3 Music Streams on IMEEM
you've probably got to sign up. i don't know if this is new stuff or not but I thought I remember hearingi chinese democracy was the name of the album. i'm not a huge GnR fan. In fact I can't stand them. -
I loved these guys back in the day, but Axel's idiocy and the lack of music from them (him) for 50 years has made me apathetic.

It's not the band so much as it is axl rose's singing.

I think I just downloaded it. It sounds like Axel, and the song lyrics matchup w/ what's on their website. But until I hear an official release/leak I'll stay a bit skeptical. It sounds good though.

Not sure if it was the ****ty PC speakers at the office or a crummy rip, but it sounds like there's waaay too much effect on the vocal tracks. Otherwise it's a pretty catchy song.
I wonder how old this song actually is. :tongue:sking29, Tone_E, Boik14 and 1 other person like this. -
There's also a track on Rock Band 2 from GNR which should be on the album too.
I've always been middle of the road on GNR, for me they peaked with their debut. I did like the Use Your Illusion albums though.
I'll probably buy this album when (if?) it comes out, if only because it's one of the most infamous music projects ever. -
So who are the band members now????

Guns N' Roses: Home: Guns N' Roses | Chinese Democracy | 11.23.2008
I'm thinking you heard another song off the record? -
Not too bad, still has a bit of a dirty rough edged sound.

Its just this one song that is so different, the one that Muck gave us the link to sounds like classic G N R, then one iam talking about does'nt sound anything like classic G N R -

In all honesty....it blows.
MUCH better bands out there deserving of the air time that aren't getting any.NJFINSFAN1, Jt0323, Motion and 2 others like this. -
Eh from the songs I've been able to track down its not that great. I'm still not sure if this patchwork band should be called Guns N' Roses though, its just not the same for me.

GnR had their time. I dont think Axel can physically do it anymore. that MTV award show a few years back was a nightmare...total embarrasement. they cant tour, he cant perform live, but in a studio with some help and technology, they can certainly create new stuff.
-
I have heard all but 2 songs now. The album has leaked this weekend, PM me if you get it please.
This record is very different than true GNR, there is a few rockers and a decent amount of piano pieces and ballads. Chinese Democracy, the song they are playing on the radio is far from the best that the CD has to offer. Fans of hardcore GNR will see part of why GNR broke up because a few songs make November Rain and Estranged feel like total rock tracks. -
Heard rumours of a GnR reunion this summer but all depends on Slash and Axl resolving their issues.
What a summer that could be for me , AC/DC , Metallica and GnR :D
"New" album is pretty damn good , sounds very much like AFD in some places with a modern mix on the sounds. Gonna give it another listen later I think :D -
Why in the world would Slash and the others get back with Axl? He was the one that made them sign over there rights to any royalties with the Guns and Roses name on it. I would tell Axl to go pound sand.

Hey, I've heard 2 or 3 on XM's the Boneyard and they were pretty dam good songs!
-
I listened to it last night and I was much more impressed then I figured I would be.
If the World is my favorite track, I want to get an instrumental of it to flow over as the beat would make for an awesome rap song.
Madagascar sounds like a RZA produced track.
To my ears it sounded mixed/mastered very well for the most part. There were a few times things seemed to get a bit rough but overall its sounds quite good, especially at high volume.
I don't expect the old school GnR fan to get into this album at all. Its way too experimental for people that stick to one genre of music. -
For those of you who are still Guns & Roses fans, I was at Best Buy today and walked by the display table. If you buy the CD there you get a good size wall poster. Just a heads up.:wink2:

I only liked about 2 songs. (Shackler's Revenge and Prostitute)
The rest are meh.
As much as the band itself has changed...Axl Rose's voice is GNR.
Its like trying to get someone else to be the lead voice in Nirvana, its not the same. Cobain = Nirvana.
Now GNR, you can get anyone else for the band but as long as you got Axl, it sounds like GNR to me. -
Appetite for Destruction is arguably the greatest American Rock record ever (I consider the Jimi Hendrix Experience to be a British band, even though he's from Seattle, but that's just my trip). I love Guns n Roses.
I listened to Chinese Democracy and it sucks. What can you do?
