the O line. They are ALL terrible, except possibly Pouncey. They can't open holes for the running game and pass blocking almost always results in a penalty. Long has regressed. Incognito has **** for brains. Jerry is fat and Martin is too slow, he is always beat clean. All of you crying about not having a playmaker at WR seem to not understand that all our line will allow Tanny to do is the 8 yard quick passes. You seem to think that Marshall would have thrived in this offense. But he can't get deep if the line doesn't give enough time for the routes to develop. Tannehill is the best looking QB we have had in a decade, but he can't go deep without time to throw the ball. So until the line does their job, nobody else can.

Pretty much agree with the exception of Martin. The guy is a rookie getting used to the right side. He has improved since the preseason IMO. -

LOL, our friggin problem is we have an OC that still thinks we can run the ball to the right side of this offensive line where we have a rookie that is mediocre at best as a RT. When we run left it works but we rarely run left. We also do not have any type of A List running back. Bush cannot run between the tackles, thats been proven and no, the Oakland game does not count. The entire league , Pop Warner included, runs inbetween the tackles on Oakland. Miller does decent, when going left and when he gets a chance. Honest, take a good look at the better running backs, if there is no hole they go another way or at least have the ability to push the pile and break basic tackles. We do not have one running back, save Thomas, that can do that and Thomas by any stretch of the imagination is a backup type running back.
This team is setup to pass with the exception we do not have a number one reciever. We do not have running backs that put a scare in anyone, people better accept that fact. St. Louis has possible the worst offensive line in the NFL and already has been plagued by injuries along the Oline but they have Steven Jackson and a kid named Richardson. Seattle has crap for an Oline but they have Beastmode. The list goes on and on.
Same like I said about Olines last year. Colts without Manning were horrible. but when Manning was there their Oline was always flaunted as one of the best. Denver, perhaps the worst pass blocking, supposedly, Oline in the NFL. Bring in Manning ? Magically they look all world now, same 5 guys. No, we need a good RB on this football team and Bush, Thomas and Although Miller is still not had his chance, we still do not have one.
I sat home and called everyone one of our running plays and I am no where near a coach. Mike Sherman is as predicatable as a good watch. Someday someone is going to wake up and realize " Hey, we cannot run the ball to the right " When that happens watch, the running game will change. It will be much better once this smoke and mirrors Bush guy is gone also. -

so help me understand… what is going on on the field from your view. -

Lets put it this way. Basic football 101. If you do not have a running game or AT LEAST FRIGGIN DO PLAY ACTION, teams will stack the box and no team on the planet earth will run the ball. We have ZERO play action passing and ZERO running backs that threaten anyone. If you know football that spells one thing, you have to pass and we have ZERO number one wide receivers and no, Hartline and Bess or not number one type receivers. Bush is great, on occasion, on some plays. Outside of that, no, he is not a Gore, Jackson, Johnson, Jackson Buf, etc, Bush is a proto type once in awhile, great outside runner.
Name one running back we have that can push the pile. Name one running back we have that can make a good run out of nothing. Chris Johnson got most of his yards on his own Sunday. His best runs were done completely on his own. Kinda like the plays he made successful where there were no holes. Like a certain play where he went right and there was nothing and went back left only to score a TD. That had nothing to do with our defense being bad but it had all todo with Chris Johnson being a great running back. Watch the game another ten years then get back with me.
Not saying our entire offense was not flat yesterday but I am saying we do not have a threat at running back, none at all. -
If you're saying its only possible Mike Pouncey isn't terrible, then you're probably not in a position where you need to be starting threads on the topic.
Yesterday the line wasn't by any means bad. The issue, as it has been basically all season long, is Incognito and Martin. Long had a good game and seemed to respond well to last week against a quality pass rusher. Regardless of John Jerry being "fat" it's pretty much negligible. He's been quite consistently solid and the only guy on the line who hasn't had an awful game besides Pouncey.Boik14 and Stringer Bell like this. -

I'll accept your apology on the condition you make some sort of good faith effort to change? -
I think DPate has a lot of knowledge for the game, the only times I feel comfortable disagreeing with him are on personnel decisions or college prospects..

"Can someone please tell Ryan Tannehill that he's athletic, and allowed to use his legs to make plays..
This is how you win games, not by just throwing the ball to a target, but by getting first downs any which way you can, by scrambling in the pocket, foreseeing the rush and making an adjustment, take off for christs sakes and get involved in the game.
Think we need to look at some backs in this draft..one with an overall good skillset, natural running instincts, and some speed..Stephan Taylor is a nice package of running back skills..eyes have been on him for a couple years.
We're gonna need to start acquiring guys who have a different level of passion than the norm, with the state of the culture, it's gonna have to come to players caring enough to turn it around and come together, on their own.
I don't know if having most of your leadership counsel players up for free agency at one time is condusive to a team atmosphere, not sure if that can work.
I don't know which, or how many players who are up for free agency, want to be Miami dolphins..
And I don't know how players who may want to test free agency, could ever help form a championship caliber mindset.
They lost to a similar type skillset that cut them up last week, no containment of the Qb to the pocket, and slow reaction skills behind the Los by our front 7..
I don't know, maybe when you shoot your load defensively the prior week, and nothing works, maybe confidence takes a big hit in the locker room..
Two historic losses in a row is not good...
Gotta put Ireland back on the spot, as well as a lot of the players..who wants to be here is the question right??
Thursday nite we either win, or start looking at the offseason."Bumrush likes this. -

So yea, about Tannehill. He does need to run more often. I think that seeing Locker take off so many times against us compounded that thought. Tannehill busted his tail down the field to make that tackle. Where is that speed when the pocket brakes down or everyone is covered?
That is probably the question of the decade Dj..."Who wants to be a Miami Dolphin". Plenty used to want to play here...big city, girls, beaches, and good athletics. The heat are thriving here, there must be a reason those big three choose to play in Miami. -
With a loss like that, I think asking questions about it is not taboo..
I've come up with this.
1) what you said, but then I ask myself why one team wanted it more than us, we ain't sh&$.
2) The leadership counsel and most of the teams core players are free agents, and because their humans, cannot garner the focus needed to become a team with the right makeup.
3) We lost a perfectly beautiful pissed off attitude to play with since we beat the jets.
4) our players came out of the tunnel a four and four team, 1 game out of first place, and saw an empty stadium, and thought to themselves, if our fans have no passion or care, why should we. -
The players could care less about an empty stadium. Now, if their paychecks were empty with all zeros on them, yeah, I could see that affecting things.
Most of the players on this team know S Florida is the toilet bowl of NFL fans. I will not go into why because I would be banned for saying the truth on what it is. This stadium is never going to be packed ever again regardless of the teams record. If I was Ross I would take the offer to move to LA.
South Florida has gone in the toilet bowl fan wise and please, do not give me the Heat sell out games. If the Heat had 80,000 plus seats no, they would not sell out games. The Marlins ? LMAO, no. South Florida has changed a tad since the Marino days if you know what I mean.
Sure it would be great if the players had a full stadium but no way shape or form does empty stands infuence the outcome of a game. Like I said, I would get into the reason but then I would be banned for making racist comments probably. -

Just curious, do we at some point this season try Martin at left tackle to see if he can handle the position. We really need to find out in case Long walks, and I am not insinuating that we don't try to resign him. In case we can't afford to keep Long we need to know how to address the offensive line in the off season. We can't put all of the rushing woes on the offensive line though, we don't really have a good running back. I agree with some other posters that Bush is not a between the tackle runner and should be used as a change of pace running back.
