This isn't a thread for criticism of any Dolphins' player, coach, staff member, family member (close or distant), trainer, pet, or their best friends. As valid and insightful as it might be, there's plenty of place for that elsewhere.
This thread is to ask a question and to pose an idea.
The Question - This off-season, if you could say something (POSITIVE) to one of the Dolphins players, staff members, the whole team, or one of the smaller teams or groups of players - what would you say?
The Idea - It's actually possible to write to the team or individuals on the team. What would it say of the fans in this community, and more importantly, what might it do for the Dolphins as a team or individually, if we made an effort this off-season to put together individual letters, notes etc. and send them off from ThePhins.com either in bulk or even several a week up to the season? It wouldn't take much effort to collect the messages on here somewhere, and then they could be printed on letter-headed paper by some Phins.com higher-up, and mailed off.
Other possibilities to show a 'fan presence' or community support for the team are actually endless if we got creative. But what if ThePhins could make our collective support known to the Dolphins. Let them know we're here? Letters are easy. We could do it individually, but letter headed or logo-ed paper gives a unified identity that indicates a 'bigger' presence and united effort. Heck we could order pizza for the team. Or take note of their birthdays and do something. I don't know. I'm rambling on now, but the point is, we can talk a lot on here about supporting, and those in Miami can actually go to games, but those of us further away can't. We can all do, though, to actually show tangible support, is come up with something simple, put in a bit of effort, and make our name and our support known to the Dolphins, no?
Seems possible to me, if we actually care to put a bit of 'support' into action. Doesn't have to be too hard. Heck I'd do all the printing and mailing myself, albeit from Europe, if need be. Whatever the case, we 'can' do something, and all we have to do is one thing and just get started. Anyway, that's my thought.
Thoughts? Up for it?
